what day of the week was the Belmont Stakes in 1867 held?

On Wednesday June 19, 1867, Ruthless beat out De Courcey by a head at Jerome Park Racetrack to win the inaugural running of the Belmont Stakes.

The Belmont Stakes is held on the first Saturday that falls on or after June 5. The Kentucky Derby is always held on the first Saturday in May; the Preakness Stakes is held two weeks later; and the Belmont Stakes is held three weeks after the Preakness. The earliest possible date for the Derby is May 1, so with that, the earliest possible date for the Belmont is June 5, and the latest is June 11.

In 1920 Who sets the record on this day at Belmont Stakes?

In 1920 Who sets the record on this day at Belmont Stakes?

it was the great Man O' War.!

he was rode by Johnny Loftus, he won the Belmont stakes with a time of 2:14.20. he won the Stakes in by over 20 lengths. he beat Sir Barton's track record that year by over three seconds.

he beat Sir Barton in a match race by over seven lengths.

if he ran the Derby, Big Red would have won the Triple Crown, no doubt in my mind.

i wish the horses both raced around the same time, so we could have seen a match race between Secretariat & Man O' War. that would have been incredible & something to remember.

The links above should answer most of your questions. First link is regarding tickets..second link covers just about everything regarding The Belmont Stakes. (Great Source be sure to click on Belmont 2009 on left menu). The time you go depends on if you're going for the whole card or not..which starts at 1PM. Since you're not planning on going for the day, I would arrive at least 11/2 - 2 hours before the race, regardless of time you arrive the amount you pay will be the same. You should reserve your seats ahead of time, this way you can pick your seating in advance (not necessary though). Again, check out the link above, once there you can feel free to either call or email with any question not answered.

Have Fun and May the best horse win... :)
