Bubblegum Day

Bubblegum Day is everything about eating bubblegum to raise money for charity. Great enjoyable for kids, and a means to assist a great cause; simply bear in mind not to ingest way too much, and to dispose of it easily!

BUBBLEGUM!!!!!!!!???????

OH MY GOSH. Talk about hanging a slow, none breaking curve to Babe Ruth or Barry Bonds with the bases loaded.

Sir. Your question is the epitome of everything that's WRONG with bubblegum.

First, please read what the poster above me wrote. When bubblegum was created Walter Diemer danced with his office staff because they knew he had just discovered the holy grail of candy. One that could do what no other could do. Blow those gigantic bubbles. Taste was just an afterthought. From what is written apparently both the taste and the color were added from ingredients that just happened to be available.

Bubblegum is the world's greatest food not for it's taste. But for the fact that it blows bubbles and no other food can do anything else like it.

Bubblegum didn't build it's legend around taste. It built it around BUBBLES. And what a legend it is. Just go and google the word "bubblegum" and see what you get. You get a lot about bubblegum, but then you get tons of stuff that has totally nothing to do with bubblegum the product yet have adopted the name of bubblegum. If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, that has to make bubblegum one of the greatest things ever.

I guarantee you, just as bubblegum wasn't created for taste, the worldwide, 80 year old phenomena of bubblegum wasn't built on taste.

I would say that I can't believe that anyone would ever say what you said, but that isn't true. I can believe it but I just can't understand it. It seems these days like many manufacturers think that bubblegum is all about taste, and that's really sad. To me it means they are getting away from what built the product. The BIG BUBBLE.

Big bubbles mean a lot to me. I am associated with the greatest bubble blowers in the world, The BOMB Squad, which includes Susan Montgomery Williams and Joyce Samuels, world record holders for blowing the largest bubbles. I'm really sorry to possibly offend you with this, but they did not break their world records by simply extracting the most FLAVOR out of their gum.

Nor is there any GUINNESS World Record for "tastiest bubblegum." Do you really honestly believe that if it wasn't for people like these great bubble blowers and the millions of people out there who love to blow bubbles, that bubblegum would be the glorious, probably 1 billion + $ success story that it is simply by virtue of it's taste?

How could that possibly be???

Anyway, I invite you to check out our website, bubblegum's greatest website, bubblegumheaven.com. Come and see The BOMB Squad. The world's greatest bubble blowers. Come and see the BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, bubblegum's greatest bubble blowing contest, where YOU could become the world champion of bubble blowing. Come and see the biggest bubbles ever blown.

And then come back here and tell us bubblegum is all about the flavor of the gum. And while your at it it, kindly throw in an explanation of why you say that, because the mere notion of it totally mystifies me.

Meanwhile I'm going to take my bubblegum down to the local candy store, blowing big bubbles all the way. I'm going to get myself a snickers, or m&m's, or hersheys, or reeses, or 3 musketeers, or milky way, or kit kat, or any one of a hundred other things that taste better than bubblegum, because once I get there I'm gonna be in it for the taste.

I'll save Walter Diemer's wonderful creation for exactly what he meant it for. BIG BUBBLES
