Day of the Seven Billion 2020 is on Saturday, October 31, 2020: Seven Days?
Saturday, October 31, 2020 is Day of the Seven Billion 2020. UN names 31 October as Day of Seven Billion reach 7 billion – just
I feel that first, at some point the Bible says that a day to God is like a thousand years to man. So by that, our sense of time and God's sense of time are two completly different things.
I also think that even though the Bible was divinly inspiried, they only could have written what they could have comprehended. At that time, I wonder if they would have been able to comprehend that the earth is billions and billions of years.
Or, my fav theory...
God didnt creat Adam and Eve as babies, he created them as adults. So even though they were only a day old, they werent infants, they had the body of adults. Why would he have created the earth as an 'infant'? Now, we know what would have happened if Adam and Eve had been babies, because we have seen time and time again. But we have never seen another earth come into existence.
Why cant both science and religion be correct? Why couldnt God have created the earth the same as he created Adam and Eve? OR why couldnt it have just taken a lot longer than 7 days, and they just couldnt comprehend that at the time it was written?
How many days after God created the Earth did he create Adam and Eve?
Gen 1:1 speaks of God creating the "heavens and the earth," which took place likely billions of years prior to the beginning of the Genesis "days" of creation. So the Genesis account begins with the earth already in existence, and then describes the order in which God prepared the earth for human habitation. This preparation of the earth was done in six creative "days" or time periods, each of which was likely thousands of years long.
So, God did not create everything in 6 literal 24-hour days. This is contrary to sound reason and true scientific evidence. The word “day” is used in many different senses in the Bible. It does not always mean a 24-hour period. Sometimes it means only the hours of sunlight, that is, 12, more or less. Sometimes it stands for a year. Sometimes it means the years during a certain generation. In several references a day is 1,000 years, and in some even longer. No doubt the days in Genesis chapter 1 were very much longer (thousands of years). But the Bible does not there say exactly how long they were.
So, to sum this up and answer your question, God created the earth billions of years ago. When the time came to prepare the earth for humans, God spent thousands of years making everything just right for us. First the earth needed light. So God made the light from the sun to shine on the earth. (Remember the sun had been created billions of years before this, but now God caused the light from the sun to penetrate through to the earth.) He made it so there could be both nighttime and daytime. Afterward God caused land to come up above the water of the ocean.
Next God made green grass to cover the land. And he made all kinds of small plants and bushes and trees. This not only made the earth pretty, but it also would provide food for his next creations.
Then God made all the various animals in the ocean and birds to fly in the sky. Next He created the land animals. Finally, God created Adam and then Eve. It was sometime after this that 6th creative "day" ended.
How many millions are in seven billion?
A million is a thousand thousand, while a billion is a thousand million. If we refer to how many zeros in a billion, then please see below:
"There are 9 in the US, but possibly 12 in other countries, because there are two scales that use the same number names. The short scale advances names by thousands (thousand, million, billion, trillion, quadrillion) while the long scale advances numbers by millions, with intermediate names (e.g. milliard) for the thousands of those units.
--- Short Scale ---
In the 'short scale', a million is a thousand thousand, and a billion is a thousand million.
million 1,000,000 (6 zeros)
billion 1,000,000,000 (9 zeros)
trillion 1,000,000,000,000 (12 zeros)
*All English speaking countries now use the short scale.
(Britain changed to the short scale in 1974.)
(Some non-English speaking countries [Brazil, Bulgaria, Estonia, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Myanmar, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales] call the 9 zero number a billion (or sometimes a milliard) and the 12 zero number a trillion. Greece also uses the short scale, but with different names.)
--- Long Scale ---
In the 'long scale' a billion is a million million, with 12 zeros:
million 1,000,000 (6 zeros)
billion 1,000,000,000,000 (12 zeros)
trillion 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (18 zeros)
milliard (thousand million) = 1,000,000,000 (9 zeros)
billiard (thousand billion) = 1,000,000,000,000,000 (15 zeros)
*Most non-English speaking countries use the long scale.
(Some countries like Canada, Puerto Rico and South Africa use both, depending on whether English is being spoken or not.
Some countries (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, China, Japan, North and South Korea) have their own names and systems of numbering.) Be careful with numbers greater than one million in English historical documents and in numbers from countries other than your own."
Good luck to you and have a pleasant day.
