3 DAYS MARTIAL ARTS CLASS,3 DAYS ON ALTERNATE DAYS GYM WILL IT WILL Be BENEFICIAL FOR ME?

Do this, and you won't need the gym at all.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday - Stretches, then Squats, Pushups (wide and close hands), Crunches, Planks, Lunges, Leg Lifts as a warm up, then train in martial arts, doing kicking drills and striking drills, and stance work.

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday - Stretches, then Speed form. Get wrist/ankle weights, they're foam and velcro and have adjustable weight bars, and do forms/free sparring at full speed/strength for 5 minutes, then slow and focused for 5 minutes. Alternate between these without stop for 20 minutes, five minute rest, then start again.

Sunday - Rest. You'll need this day for complete relaxation and rest if you can manage it so your body will recooperate after the training. Throughout the week, drink about a gallon of water per day, eat lots of protein (lean meats - like turkey), lots of vegetables, and be sure to eat a decent amount of carbs per day - eg. a couple of sandwiches or pasta. In a diet to slim down, carbs are supposed to be limited, but as you're not trying to slim down, and rather are trying to strengthen, they're completely essential to this training schedule. Without sufficient carbs, you won't have the energy to do strenuous training like this. Hope this helps :)

Who else thinks that Jigoro Kano has had the greatest influence on modern day martial arts?

Who else thinks that Jigoro Kano has had the greatest influence on modern day martial arts?

Modern Day Martial Arts? Absoluely.

Belt system = invented by Kano

Spread of Martial Arts outside of home country= Kano, he sent emissaries from the Kodokan across the globe. He worked internationally to help bring the sport to the Olympics and propagate it.

Hence why Teddy Roosevelt was a Judoka, why the huge influence of Judo in Russia and so forth.

Judo remains one of the more wider spread Martial Arts out there.

Truly definitive soft style art = Judo's major difference from Jujutsu was the addition of kazushi and utilizing smaller circles and a better understanding of mechanical leverage. Judo brought his educational background behind him to make it much more efficient, as such it's throws are a great improvement over many of the Jujutsu throws that were designed for armor wielding opponents and not changed much since then.

While yes, there are other martial Artist that have had impact throughout history. But as far as Modern Day, World Wide Martial Arts, Judo is easily the most recognizable and wide spread. Most of this was due to the tireless work of Dr. Kano in propagating his art.

Now a days, the concept of aliveness and fully resistant training that has come about has come in large part from Judo and the spread of pure grappling arts beginning in the mid 90s.

But hey that is just my opinion.

when is the Art & Artist day?
