What should I draw for the day?

Drawing something new everyday is a great exercise for artists! I would recommend a sketchbook the keep all of your sketches and drawings in one place.

I have always love drawing animals. There are tons of different varieties, and you can draw them in different poses, with different media. Drawing creatures from your imagination can be fun too, like a Pegasus, the way you imagine one. Drawing landscape can be fun. It is also sometimes fun to draw something that ties in the closest holiday, like a rabbit for Easter, or a carved jack o lantern for Halloween. Try to draw things with lots of detail, i.e. plants and people's faces, it will make you a better artist. Also try experimenting with many different styles (cartooning, realistic, surreal, etc.) and many different medias (charcoal, pastels, pencils, etc.).

And, when all else fails,I just doodle randomly on a piece of scrap paper, and it will usually give me an idea for my next sketch.

Happy sketching!

Don't you have a photo of him? I suggest you draw a portrait based on that photo and include yourself in the picture.

In that case, you should really try drawing a grid on a photo, making sure that all the squares are even, then concentrate on a square and draw that square on a blank piece of paper. If my description doesn't make much sense, check out the artist Chuck Close. He is a photorealist and drew grids on existing photographs and translated each individual box on paper, making an almost Xeroxed-like version of the photo on a larger canvas. it's like piecing together a puzzle using a pencil!

HOW TO DRAW MANGAS??????

HOW TO DRAW MANGAS??????

Grab a sketchpad and a pencil. Draw anything you see, FAST! try drawing it in 3 minutes... as fast as you can. Then find a next object, draw it quick... 3 minutes again. Then the next, and the next, etc... Forget about drawing pretty manga eyes. Do this all the time. Learn to draw fast, and you'll be much more prepared than 90% of people in deviantart in 3 months. You have to be drawing ALL the time. Rest when your hand gets tired... but continue as soon as you can. Try to draw moving objects too. When you feel like you've improved, reduce your time to 2 minutes per drawing. When you've improved more, try to add shading to you drawings under those 2 minutes. That's how you learn to draw manga, and everthing else.

Just remember, if you get bored of doing this and decide to drop your pencil for a while and do something else... you're wasting time.

Holidays also on this date Friday, June 7, 2024...
