i love dyngus day ! it's soo much fun , i adored it when i was a kid i loved sneaking up on my sister , father and mother with water but when i wasn't looking they got me back ! yes , it brings back so much memories and i'll never hate it , but when it's raining on that day ( you know poland in the spring you can still get a blizzard ) i do feel a little glum but na i just laugh and go with the fun , but spring offers some nice warm days so i don't mind , it's a time when the kids get to have fun after being at home for long days when there was a blizard outside in the winter , still my cousins , uncles and aunts can get at me and attack me with the water but i laugh and get them back !! it's fun !
What is Dyngus Day?
Dyngus comes from the fuji term Dyngusani meaning "He who shall not dig his own dung into a hole." Dyngus Day is a celebration of people crapping on the ground and digging it in a hole to fertilize nature. Its kind of our way of giving back to the earth. Most people drink excessive amounts of alcohol on this day to ease the pressure from crapping and some times they also pee themselves. It is all apart of Fuji tradition and is always celebrated the day after Easter.
