Don't add a mile each day try adding 1 mile every week but if your 13 I would say stop at 5-6 miles because of your age. you don't want to over train at such a young age, your body is still growing and over the years your times will get better and better. My mile time was high 7 min when I was 13 now I'm 16 and I'm now a 4 min miler and hope to be a 3 min miler in the future. These longer runs will help build up your endurance witch will really help you in the mile. And try to control your breathing and work on your form. Stand up tall when you run and take deep full breaths in and out instead of short shallow breaths. And drink plenty of water threw out the day so you Ar hydrated and everyday try to take a multivitamin they will help you. And eat your vegetables anything green is GREAT food for running. And after your run drink plenty of water and drinking milk after a run is good because it makes your bones stronger. STAY AWAY FROM ENERGY DRINKS! Gatorade would be fine to drink after a run but I wouldn't recommended it before a run. And do a warm up for 5 min easy and stretch and then after your run do a cool down for 5 min easy and stretch real good so you do not get injured and it helps get the lactic acid out. after an intense workout you will have a buildup of lactic acid in your muscles. By going thru a cool down cycle at the end of your workout, this will help slowly work the lactic acid out of the muscles.
