It is our Independance day. July 4, 1776, is the day the Declaration of Independance was signed. Many people think that it is the day that the United States gained its independance from England but this is not true. Our country was at war with them until I think, 1778. Then why was the Declation of Independance signed in 1776? That's a good question and I don't know.

I personally don't care if our country ever gained independance from England or not. I believe your country is still loyal to England after all this time and you don't seem to have any trouble with it.

I must also say I'm sorry you had to get so may rude answers. Not all U.S. citizens feel this way about people of other countries. My grandparents came from Canada, back in the day. Unfortunately, now there is a lot of fighting going on between Canadians and United States citizens.
