Saturday, August 17, 2024 is God's Preeminence Day 2024. That in all Things He Might Have the Preeminence preeminence

What are the Angels of God’s duties seeing their so Many?

Not being creatures that marry and reproduce their own kind, the angels were individually created by God through his firstborn Son, “the beginning of the creation by God.” (Mt 22:30; Re 3:14) “By means of him [this firstborn Son, the Word] all other things were created in the heavens . . . the things invisible . . . Also, he is before all other things and by means of him all other things were made to exist.” (Col 1:15-17; Joh 1:1-3)

The angels were created long before man’s appearance, for at the ‘founding of the earth’ “the morning stars joyfully cried out together, and all the sons of God began shouting in applause.”—Job 38:4-7.

The foremost angel, both in power and authority, is Michael, the archangel. (Da 10:13, 21; 12:1; Jude 9; Re 12:7; see ARCHANGEL; MICHAEL No. 1.) Because of his preeminence and his being called “the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of [God’s] people,” he is presumed to be the angel that led Israel through the wilderness. (Ex 23:20-23)

Ranking very high among the angels in privileges and honor are the seraphs. (Isa 6:2, 6; see SERAPHS.)

More frequently (some 90 times), the Scriptures mention the cherubs, and from the description of their duties and responsibilities it is apparent that they, too, hold a special position among the angels. (Ge 3:24; Eze 10:1-22;

Then there is the great body of angelic messengers who serve as a means of communication between God and man. However, they do more than simply relay messages. As agents and deputies of the Most High God, they serve as responsible executioners of the divine purpose, be it protection and deliverance of God’s people or destruction of the wicked.—Ge 19:1-26.

As personalities, angels have the power to communicate with one another (1Co 13:1), the ability to talk various languages of men (Nu 22:32-35; Da 4:23; Ac 10:3-7), and the thinking ability with which to glorify and praise Jehovah (Ps 148:2; Lu 2:13). It is true that angels are sexless, because Jehovah made them so,

Angels are generally represented as males, and when materializing it was always in the male form, because God and his Son are spoken of as males.

However, when certain materialized angels indulged in the pleasure of sex in the days of Noah, they were expelled from Jehovah’s heavenly courts. Here was a display of angelic individuality, for, like humankind, they too are free moral agents, with the power of personal choice between right and wrong. (Ge 6:2, 4; 2Pe 2:4) By personal choice, hordes of angels joined Satan in his rebellion.—Re 12:7-9; Mt 25:41.

Angels too can travel at tremendous speeds, far exceeding the limits of the physical world. Thus when Daniel was praying, God dispatched an angel to answer his prayer; and the angel arrived within moments, even before the prayer was concluded.—Da 9:20-23.

Angels are further shown accompanying Jesus Christ when he comes for judgment, separating “the wheat” from “the weeds” and “the sheep” from “the goats.” Angels joined with Michael in his war on the dragon and the demons at the birth of God’s Kingdom in heaven. They will also support the King of kings in fighting the war of the great day of God the Almighty.—Mt 13:41; 25:31-33; Re 12:7-10; 19:14-16.

Please read the scriptures they are interesting. I don't usually write so much, I enjoyed your question.

How can you disprove God’s existence when so many people believe?

How can you disprove God's existence when so many people believe?

EJ,

I think it only too obvious that you're asking a question many do not seriously contemplate enough. For instance, if personal testimony is laden with a bunch of talk that causes your audience to think that God is a magician you should not be surprised when you're laughed at. Most do not study the Word enough to let it interpret itself. Therefore, they do not know the Word well enough to prove its Truth–––using Itself as the proof.

Additionally, all too often smart-alleck believers forget that the Holy Spirit is the Real Teacher. And if the Father hasn't chosen to work the heart of a non-believer, who are we to think that we can convince? The Holy Spirit convicts and convinces, not we mortals.

Many 'believers' nowadays who say they believe don't even know what it is that they believe. A False 'Jesus' has been taught for many generations now; in fact, many centuries. They are only repeating what they've heard, or what they think a particular passage means. They won't go to the Word to learn of Him–––The Word of God–––Christ!

Too, growth hardly ever accompanies learning in this day and age. It's just rush, rush, rush; running ‘to and fro’ at the speed of the Math Coprocessors on these machines we call computers. We do the same in our Spiritual Lives–––filling our heads and 'data-entry fields' with biblical information so that we can sound all 'holy', and therefore have a Theological Platform upon which to stand and run our mouths, and play church, and seek preeminence amongst the brethren as did Diotrophes of 3 John. The majority too often forget that we were given two eyes and ears to see and hear with, but only ONE mouth with which to speak; therefore, they miss the inference made plain by our Designer. True humility would make it apparent!

It's mostly nothing but Babble. That's why they're babble-lonians. That, and many are truly confused about Truth, because they will not seek it out, and prefer to think that if they know a little about ‘God’ then they’re gonna make it to ‘heaven’. It should suffice to say that He knows our hearts, and whether or not we truly desire Him.

True Believers should simply be pointing to The Word, encouraging others to study it for the riches of Truth that exist therein, and not trying to convince others. Besides, if you don’t get the Truth from its Author–––in His Word–––it won’t do you any good–––even if you can quote verses of Truth.

As in all of his past history here in the temporal, I believe that this dilemma will plague Mankind until the End.

What are the main beliefs of Judaism?

What are the main beliefs of Judaism?

Ok- I will give a brief intro here and links to some sites which can give a lot of detail. Also, I speak as an Orthodox jew and thus one that keeps all the laws- there are more lenient branches of Judaism

There are some things you will be familiar with- such as the ten commandments. Thise are from judaism and are seen more as overall categories for the commandments (there are 613 in all) A very important thing here is that God is seen as a single, indivisible being- no trinuity, duality or anything else. Also, there is no devil in Judaism and our view of the afterlife is very different to the Christian one.

The 13 principles of faith stated by Rambam (Rabbi MOshe ben Maimon- also known as Maimonides) are the most concise statement of Jewush beliefs and are:

The existence of God

God's unity

God's spirituality and incorporeality

God's eternity

God alone should be the object of worship

Revelation through God's prophets

The preeminence of Moses among the prophets

God's law given on Mount Sinai

The immutability of the Torah as God's Law

God's foreknowledge of human actions

Reward of good and retribution of evil

The coming of the Jewish Messiah

The resurrection of the dead

Howver- these are just really highlights and point out the core beliefs without the laws and understanding around them

Festivals:

Every Week: Shabat- the Sabath, This is actually the second holiest day of the ever, even though it occurs regularly.

Monthly- Rosh Chodesh. A minor festival on which we work as normal but do say Halel, read from the Torah and say Musaf.

The three pilgramage festivals: It was obligatory on these festivals for people to travel to jerusalem to the Temple.

Pesach (Passover): The rememberance of leaving Egypt. We eat only unleavened bread for the duration of Pesach and have a seder (special meal) in which we relate the story of our deliverance from Egypt.

Shavuot/Zman matan Torateinu (The feats of Weeks/The time of our receiving of the Torah)- Known as the feast of weeks in reference to the fact that we count 49 days from the second day of Pesach to Shavuot. This is oin memory of the fact that we received the Torah on Mt. Sinai 49 days after leaving Egypt (And thus the other name). It is traditional to stay up the whole night studying Torah until the time of the morning prayers.

Sukkot (Tabernacles)- Remembering how God protected us in our temporary dwellings in our 40 years in the desert. The main thing here is living in s Sukkah (temporary dwelling) for the duration of the festival.

The other two main festivals are:

Rosh Hashanah - The New Year of the world on which the judgement of the world starts.

Yom Kippur- The day of Atonement- the holiest day of the Jewish Year. Yom Kippur is ten days after Rosh Hashanah and on that day the judgement decreed on Rosh Hashanah for the coming year is sealed. On Yom Kippur we fast (no eating or drinking for 25 hours) and spend a lot of time in prayer and contemplation.

One note about Rosh Hashanah: It is the New Year for the world. the new Year of te Jews for purpose of nationhood is considered to be the 1st of Nissan, the month in which Pesach occurs, and the New Year for plants (and also the time on which the rains and growth is decided- based on our behaviour, is Tu B'shvzt- the 15th of Shvat which is considered a minor holiday)
