I don't celebrate "Innocents' Day" but I remember when I was younger that this day often was a day for fooling friends. It is somewhat similar to April Fools day. Anyway, nobody has the right to get mad if they are being played for a fool during this day, it's all part and parcel of having fun although at the expense of friends or people close to you.

It is the Feast Day for children who have died (could be from miscarriage, abortion, violence, disease, etc). I believe it is celebrated on December 28th. I'm not really sure what you mean by what day it would be likened to in the US, since we celebrate this Feast Day here. I guess if you're looking for something similar, it would be All Souls Day, which is for all those who have passed, not just children.
