A day pushed by some semi libertarian groups to push the idea that jurors do not need to pay any attention to the law but should vote their opinion.

The rule of law is not important to them. Opinion counts more.

Because a number of tea party types with lots of money have picked up on the whole idea number of Governors who like their campaign coffers filed have signed declarations making September 5th "Jury Rights Day".

Jury duty?

They may call you, it is just the luck of the draw. I was never called throughout my college days but I think I just got lucky. I am not sure how your area handles your jury selection but know that they just randomly select people to serve.
