What is a log cabin republican? I also asked a question to republicans the other day...?

Log Cabin refers to a practice that started in the early 1800's where candidates would run less on political merits and more on how appealing they were to the "common man"; this is something that modern Republicans typically tend to embrace more than modern Democrats (although I didn't know that there was a specific group today called the Log Cabin Republicans). As for what they stand for, Republicans TEND (there are always exceptions) to stand for limited government, low taxes, and deregulation of corporations. On social issues, they tend to favor more interference; for example, most Republicans believe that abortion and gay marriage should be illegal.

Many Republicans are Christians, (and many Democrats are, too), but Republicans are often more vocal about this, and their political stances are (I believe) more likely to be influenced by their religion than Democrats' (for example, many Republicans oppose gay marriage because it is called an abomination in the Bible).

Married in a log cabin in St. Louis?

Married in a log cabin in St. Louis?

There are some log cabins in Lesterville Mo on the Black River. There is a log church which is fairly large in Silver Dollar City in Branson that is used for weddings but they dont have a dance floor or bar on the property. You can look at the Lodge at Orlando Gardens but its a modern day reproduction (and not a very good one) that's a B&B. The have weddings but they are on the patio under a tent and they do catering but there is no dance floor and the bar is very small. We stayed there and were not pleased at all. In fact we referred to it as the hoosier B&B. It really sounds like what you are looking for is a large western themed bar. The last one that I saw that fit the bill was almost to Nashville but you might check out both Jefferson and Franklin counties to see what bars they may have that might work for you.

The Log Cabin Campaign of 1840

Harrison was the first president to campaign actively for office. He did so with the slogan "Tippecanoe and Tyler too." Tippecanoe referred to Harrison's military defeat of a group of Shawnee Indians at a river in Ohio called Tippecanoe in 1811. Democrats laughed at Harrison for being too old (at age 67) for the presidency, and referred to him as "Granny," hinting that he was senile (lost his mental capacity). Said one Democratic newspaper: "Give him a barrel of hard cider, and ... a pension of two thousand [dollars] a year ... and ... he will sit the remainder of his days in his log cabin." What do you think the Whig response to this was?
