What does Memorial Day mean to you?

It means a day of remembrance of those who have served and died for our country. It means to remember those who have been wounded fighting for our country. it means to remember those who are MIA/POW and to stand behind those who are serving now. These people go to war and serve knowing that they may die or be wounded and yet they still go. words cannot express the gratitude i feel for these men and women.

for those who say it means a day off..well just know men and women died so you can live in a free country and be able to work!!

Mean is the average: add up all the numbers and divide by the number of days. 100 + 87 + 95 + 125 + 210 + 250 + 57 divided by 7.

If you were asked about median, that would be the number that falls right in the middle, when your numbers are listed from lowest to highest.

And mode is the number that appears the most frequently.

What does D-Day mean?

What does D-Day mean?

The day that the Allied forces landed in Normandy which was the beginning of the end of WW2

D-Day is a term often used in military parlance to denote the day on which a combat attack or operation is to be initiated. "D-Day" often represents a variable, designating the day upon which some significant event will occur or has occurred; see Military designation of days and hours for similar terms. The initial D in D-Day has had various meanings in the past, while more recently it has obtained the connotation of "Day" itself, thereby creating the phrase "Day-Day", or "Day of Days".[1]

By far, the best known D-Day is June 6, 1944 β€” the day on which the Invasion of Normandy began β€” commencing the Western Allied effort to liberate mainland Europe from Nazi occupation during World War II. However, many other invasions and operations had a designated D-Day, both before and after that operation.

The terms D-Day and H-Hour are used for the day and hour on which a combat attack or operation is to be initiated. They designate the day and hour of the operation when the day and hour have not yet been determined, or where secrecy is essential. There is but one D-Day and one H-Hour for all units participating in a given operation
