The movie theater me and my friends go to is actually pretty....ok. The workers always smoke behind the building and some cars slow down when their driving next to me but other then those things me and my friends can walk around the theater and the neighborhood and feel alright. Maybe thats just cuz were teenagers though

Are 7th day Adventist allowed to go to a Movie Theater?

Back in the early days of the church, going to movie theatres was discouraged. This was not because of the content of movies but because of the easy availability of alcohol being consumed there. It was a temperance matter not an entertainment matter. Here in the 21st century some individual Adventists may choose to take a conservative approach and not attend movie theatres (they don't have a problem watching the same movies on a home theatre system though). The church certainly doesn't have any issue with it. They would however expect that the Sabbath would be respected. Adventists no matter where they stand would avoid paying for secular entertainment between sunset Friday and sunset Saturday. The church in these modern times would advise not to see particular films because of their content and not because of anything wrong with theatres. Times have changed since the 1800s. I do remember various church run schools refusing to allow the Harry Potter series of movies to be shown on school grounds due to the amount of occultic practises and symbols occurring in them.
