Napping Day

Napping Day gives a chance to change after modifications to daylight savings when shedding an hour of sleep because of 'springing forward'. Mid-afternoon naps are an important part of many cultures, and medically proven to be good for you-- so right here's to justifying a couple of hrs of well been entitled to kip!

Is napping every day a problem?

Naps are very healthy and they give you some energy that helps you to continue your day. It is very normal to take naps, some parents make their children get used to having naps at an early age.

But...let us define a nap.

A nap is usually a 20-30 minutes only! Why? It has been proven that when you wake up at this stage of sleep, it will be the best for you and your body and you will feel energised. You said you take 1-2 hours sleep, this even makes you feel worse, so try lowering the time you sleep in a nap. This won't just make you energised, but will also give you time to do other things in life!

Is it normal for budgies to nap throughout the day?

Is it normal for budgies to nap throughout the day?

Napping is absolutely normal for budgies. They need to sleep approx. 12 hours each day. They rarely get this amount in one night, so they make up for the rest during the day with short naps that range in duration from a couple minutes to a full 45 minutes, like the user above said. If you keep one budgie, it'll nap at random times, whenever it feels like it, often after a nice meal or wash, but it can be at any time. If you have more than 1 budgie, they'll usually sleep all at the same time. This is because in the wild, flocks migrate. If a budgie doesn't sleep when the others sleep, it may be too tired to fly with them to the next place and have to stay behind.

And ofcourse, every budgie is different. Some like to get more sleep than others, just like humans!

You needn't worry about the budgie's sleeping behavior, until you suddenly notice a distinct difference in the amount of sleep and activity your budgie has. If your budgie usually plays a lot and is suddenly very quiet, go see a doctor. Otherwise, enjoy the fluffy little bundle of joy!

how many naps a day ?

how many naps a day ?

That many naps is silly for a baby this age - most babies this age can stay awake 2 1/2-3 hours between naps - no wonder he doesn't want one after an hour! How many naps a day depends on how long he naps each time. The mythical "average" baby is taking 2 naps of about 1 1/2-2 1/2 hours each. My actual baby rarely sleeps more than an hour at a time, so she still needs 3 naps to get her happily to bedtime, though it is true that depending on when she wakes in the morning, the 3rd nap sometimes has a hard time squeezing in while still leaving enough awake time before bedtme. So its ok to be guided by the individual circumstances of the day - 2 naps some days, 3 others, even maybe 4 on a rare occasion.

A great way to come up with a nap routine is to spend a couple of days paying attention to your baby's tired signs,, and noticing how long after waking froom a nap he starts yawning, eye rubbing, getting fussy, etc. That will give you a good idea of how long he likes to go between naps, its usually fairly consistent. And knowing that will help you predict when he will be tired and ready for a nap in the future.
