National Massage Therapy Week 2017. National Massage Therapy Awareness Week Activity Report Form ... National Massage Therapy
Depends on the school you go to. Most teach at or above requirements of your state (US) or provincial (CA) laws.
Most schools are 9 months to a year part-time. Generally 1 to 2 full/partial days per week plus some weekends.
There are several national level exams in the US.
Which you take depends on your state laws.
States with laws (& links to those laws including education requirements & which exams are accepted) are at
The exams most widely used are:
Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx)
National Certification Exam
Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT) Examination
Most of the organizations have online or paper practice tests, and there are many commercial study guides available as well.
If your school has prepared you well, you should have no need for buying anything extra to pass. Ask your school what the pass rate for their graduates is the first time they take the exams (the school I went to had over 99% pass rate on first attempts)
But if it makes you feel more confident, by all means buy a study guide or two.
How much a week does a massage therapist get paid?
Pay, job stability, job availability and benefits are much more stable in physical therapy.
The job of a massage therapist is competitive to maintain a consistent clientel and its especially difficulty in a troubled economy. The physical demands of a massage therapist are also limiting in the profession...very few people can actually do this full time. Most massage therapists work between 15-30 hours a week and earn a national median salary of $16.78/hr or $26,000 a year...however, some of their earnings may be underreported because of cash tips.
Physical therapy on the other hand, continues to be a highly in demand field and national average salary is about $72,000 a year. Full time work and benefits are common.
what can I expect on the national certification test for massage therapy?
With luck a 'Happy Ending!!!!!
