This should not be under pets but....
In 1968, the Uniforms Holiday Bill ensured three-day weekends for Federal employees by celebrating four national holidays on Mondays: Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Columbus Day. Under this bill, Veterans Day was moved to the last Monday of October. Many states did not agree with this decision and continued to celebrate the holiday on its original date. The first Veterans Day under the new law was observed with much confusion on October 25, 1971.
Should I Make A Dog Remembrance Day?
What a wonderful idea! I like to make a memorial in my photo album but a special box would be nice, too. I don't know all of my dogs' birthdays but I use one special date to remember them each year.
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a National Dog Remembrance Day? I think a lot of people would like that. Remember the dogs you have loved and lost, maybe wear a t-shirt with their photos on it, donate to pets in need if you can.
