Look, I used to be in the Navy. I stood to attention and saluted like a good wee boy every time it came on. However; back in the real world the national anthem is indeed only sung at sporting events, and then when it comes to football or rugby it's only sung by England fans.

You might as well get used to it. It isn't going to get better.
