How to lose 2kilos in a week?

Here are six simple tips that will have you losing weight in a balanced and healthy way and lose 2 kgs and more in 1 week:

1. Lose weight with water.

Water is essential for everybody - it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven't been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.

By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. If you are still not sold on the merits of water, try this on for size: water is a natural appetite suppressant.

2. Soup up your weight loss program.

A simple dietary change will have you shedding pounds: eat a bowl of soup at least once a day. Nutritious, low-salt soups will nourish you as they flush waste from your body. People who eat a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don't eat soup. Go for homemade soup whenever possible, as canned soups are loaded with salt and chemicals.

3. Eat early to keep weight off.

The human body follows a circadian rhythm, which means that the same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; however, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.

4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently.

Follow an eating schedule with five little meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.

5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet.

Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don't last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function - not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.

Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.

Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.

6. Walk off the weight.

The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.

What’s fun in New York City?

What's fun in New York City?

Welcome to New York City

The City That Never Sleeps!

Happy Early Birthday, yoyò - Looks like you're from Italy. Regardless of whether or not that is true, Benvenuto! [We have Little Italy, just in case you want a taste of Italian-American!]

I'll be happy to give you some places to explore on Saturday for your special day - a part of my answer had to be cut out because, as you may have noticed over the news, the U.S. Government has shut down. This means no access to the Statue of Liberty, any national parks, and various other government agencies are either fully or partially shut down. Don't worry, your safety is still the nation's priority and you'll still be welcomed into the U.S., no excuses.

Places of Interest:

1. Times Square/42nd Street

The lights, the sights, all delights. This is the heart of New York City and it's a must-go for any visitor to New York City. For some reason, it'll have you coming back again. Shopping, Dining, and Entertainment is all in one spot - perhaps catch a Broadway theatre show? So hang around for a while! Fun and interesting stuff happens everyday!

2. Central Park

With 3.399 km² of land that is an entire park with a zoo, a conservatory garden, a wildlife sanctuary, large woods, an ice skating rink (or pools in the summer), and more, it's not just "that one park in New York City."

3. Wall Street

The Finance Capital of the United States - Left and right in the weekday, people are rushing for nothing but serious business... but don't let that slow you down. While the fastest, yet slowest, part of day happens in the daytime, it's equal "nothing but business" becomes a party in the evening with upscale nightlife and dining. It's the "big money in the big apple."

4. Lower-east Side, ethnic communities, and the bridges

It's East and Far Eastern for the Lower-East. Chinatown and Little Italy sit on the lower east and is full of heritage. Chinese immigrants have lived in the area and have kept their culture... and notoriously, their cuisine... no secret to the rest of NYC. Little Italy, within the borders of Chinatown, make Italians of the Tri-State proud with fine Italian comfort food, it's not too little when you've got heart.

New York City consists/is divided by boroughs - Manhattan (New York, New York - A City So Nice, They Named It Twice), Brooklyn (Believe the hype!), Queens, Bronx and Staten Island. All are accessible through bridges. Two popular bridges, Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, connect you to Brooklyn (Manhattan worth taking a train over and Brooklyn worth walking over.)

Getting Around:

1. MetroCard - For Rapid Transit/Subways/Buses

$2.50 will get you in the Subway system or on a Bus ($6 for Select Bus Service.) This card is reloadable and should be carried with you for easy travel around the city.

2. LIRR/MNRR/NJ Transit/Amtrak

Whether you're off to/from the JFK airport via Jamaica, heading to the Rockaways for some sun, heading to the Appalachian for fresh air, New Jersey for an easier slice of life, or even as far as DC or Miami for a getaway within a getaway, the rail systems connect you from New York to as far north as Canada ro as far south as Miami, as far west as Chicago and Seattle to simply a Philadelphian day trip.

The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) connects you to points further east as far out to Montauk.

The Metro North Railroad (MNRR) connects you to points north[west] and northeast of the city as far out as Poughkeepsie and New Haven, Connecticut.

The New Jersey Transit (NJT) is a statewide connection rail, bus, and light rail system in New Jersey.

Amtrak is our national rail connecting from coast to coast.

Cost varies by distance and tickets are purchased at stations.

Terminal stations are at Penn[sylvania] Station and Grand Central Station

(Two more places to visit too, if you get the chance!)

Avoid the $5 Surcharge - Buy before you Board.

3. Walk

Explore - Walk New York!

(That's always free!)

I have a lot to put, but Yahoo! Answers will limit me on how much I can put on here. I live in New Jersey, neighbouring the city that I can get to in an hour, more or less. Getting around the city might not be easy, but if you have any questions, particularly about getting places, please consider e-mailing me. You'll find my e-mail here:

Enjoy New York City and have a wonderful Birthday!

What’s the Grab All Association playing at?

They just love taking the culchies money, they'd take ours too if we were still in it - but thats another story.

But your right, whats wrong with Tipp or Limerick? Its crazy. I asked the very same question to a GAA player I worked with, he said its for the players, the thrill of playing in Croker. But then again, he was from Roscommon, so it probably would have been a thrill for him.

I should add as a Dub I made the fatal error of going to West Cork the day after Dublin got hammered, heres some of what I had to put up, but I did laugh!!

What do you say to a dub on All Ireland Final Day? Two hotdogs please

What's the difference between a Dublin GAA jersey and a school uniform?? You can see school uniforms in September.

How do you get rich in Dublin?? Save for the All-Ireland !!

What Dublin's national anthem? What's another year!

What do you call a Dublin man with an all Ireland medal? An antique dealer

Oxo are releasing a new type of cube in recognition of the Dublin footballers season. Its called 'Laughing Stock'
