Noughts and Crosses?

It's basically about the segregation of blacks and whites, but instead of the whites being the ones in charge, the blacks are and the whites take the inferior position.

I actually just finished the book today and it's still fresh in my mind. It's about Callum and Sephy--Persophene--and they are friends, but they have to sneak around to be together because their parents don't like each other. Their parents used to work together, but something went wrong and it's been bad between them ever since.

Anyways, when you first open the book--after the prologue, which is necessary to get the whole story--you'll laugh. That's the first thing I did. And when you turn the last page, you'll be crying or--like me--you'll be so sad you won't even be able to cry. It's an emotionally gripping book. I had it recommended to me a few days ago, but that was AFTER I accidentally picked it up.

I read it in about three days. I couldn't put it down yesterday; I stayed up past 1 in the morning to finish the book, but couldn't read fast enough for the life of me. Anyways, Callum and Sephy go through terrible trials to be together. Each side is extremely emotional because of the cicumstances they're put under. And things get even worse when Callum goes to Sephy's school. Sephy is a Cross by the way and Callum and a naught. If you read the book you'll notice that naught isn't ever capitalized, but Cross is always capitalizied. It's, I guess, to show the inferior state naughts are in.

Things ensue that finally lead to tragic events that will engulf you. This book is not for the faint of heart, but I would never discourage someone from reading it since it's got such a great message. There are four books total--one due to come out in November of this year.

The main plot point is Sephy having to choose who she wants to be around for the rest of her life. She has enemies from both sides and each decision she makes will affect more then her.

This is a five star book, so don't miss it! Good luck and have fun reading it!

Noughts and Crosses series??!!?

'Noughts & Crosses' is the first book in what Malorie Blackman originally planned as a trilogy.

Next, there was the World Book Day special short entitled 'An Eye for an Eye'.

The final two books of the original trilogy are called 'Knife Edge' followed by 'Checkmate'.

In late 2008, Malorie Blackman released a fourth book in the series, called 'Double Cross'.

A great series, enjoy!

What is the plot in Noughts and Crosses?

What is the plot in Noughts and Crosses?

Well, the black people are like the white people back in the old days. They're the rich ones, and the "better ones". I dont remember the names of the people, but the girl is black, she is in love with her friend, who is white. They go to school together, and the white boy is beaten up. He eventually joins the rebellion, which his dad was in. His dad was killed because he was in it. The white boy is in the rebellion, and the black girl comes to love him more. The white boy has to trick the girl into coming to the beach where they played as children, and the rebellion takes her. They want to use her as a hostage to get what they want. The boy lets her go, and the police catch the boy. He is killed at the end of the book.
