How many books do you read a week?

MrSandman

I read about 1-3 books a week. I can read more, but I feel that if i do, I will only be reading to say, "Hey, look at me, I am such a fast reader, I can read 5 books a week". The purpose of reading is to get a message or heme from the book. The author wants you to think about their book. If I read too much, then I won't have time to analyze the book in my head, and it won't hold a special place in my memory.

As for the second part of your question, I read history (Guns, Germs, and Steel, History of the Arabs People, etc.), classic novels (Sherlock Holmes-Don't know if you would consider that a novel, since it is a bunch of short stories put together-20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Little Women, 1984, Treasure Island, Antigone, etc.) I also read a lot of contemporary books (HP series, Twilight series, Persepolis, The Host, etc)

Have a nice day,

S.

How much do you read per week?

I read for pleasure and also for my English literature degree. I read about 3-4 hours a day and so 2-3 average size books a week. Have you been reading a lot for long - if not you can expect to speed up quite a lot. I also buy about twice as many books as I can read and can recommend audiobooks if you have an ipod? I listen to 1-2 books a week while walking the dog, travelling, cleaning etc

Do you read every week?

Do you read every week?

I read everyday. On average, I read one book a week. Sometimes it takes me 2 weeks to finish a book if it's relatively long.

BQ: I've developed a very strong liking for Cinda Williams Chima. She's not very well known. And of course, I am also a HUGE fan of J.K. Rowling.
