Tourism Day

There’s nothing as frustrating as vacationers, right? Busy roads, jostling crowds and endless questions regarding directions are sufficient they are driving you mad, but it’s vital that you recognise the significance of vacationers and tourism on the local economy. Tourism Day encourages a comprehension of precisely how important tourism reaches driving local trade, culture, and keeping historic and native interest sites available to the general public – vacationers and citizens alike.

when is world tourism day?

World Tourism Day

Since 1980, September 27 is celebrated by the World Tourism Organization as World Tourism Day. It was established at the Third Session of the WTO General Assembly in Torremolinos, Spain, in September of 1979. The purpose of this day is to display awareness that tourism is vital to the international community and to show how it affects the social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide. Each year, there is a new theme, and a host country as the WTO's partner for celebrating World Tourism Day, which is selected by the WTO General Assembly. September 27 is important since on that day in 1970, the Statutes of the WTO were adopted. The adoption of the statutes is considered to be a milestone in global tourism.

Lebanon: I need a 10 day schedule for tourism in Lebanon?

Lebanon: I need a 10 day schedule for tourism in Lebanon?

Hi,

Well my schedule was:

Day 1: Arrive

Day 2: Look around Downtown

Day 3: Go to Beach Party in Edde Sands

Day 4: Go to Sidon and Tyre

Day 5: Go to Jeita Grotto and Harissa

Day 6: Go to Baalbek

Day 7: Go to Batroun and snorkel in sea

Day 8: Leave

You could also add in Tripoli, the Cedars and I believe there is a nice castle in the middle of the country too.

That should take you up to 10 days.

The best way around is the minibuses from Dora (if going north of Beirut) or Cola Station (if going south of Beirut) though Charles Helou station can also be used for going north.

Cabs are best used only in going around Beirut - if you say 'service', you can share with others. Try to negotiate the fare if you can.

Hope that helped,

Brian
