I keep forgetting where i am, is that normal?

Dissociative amnesia could be your problem:

oDissociative amnesia may be:

•Localized-most common types; loss of all memory of events occurring within a limited period

•Selective-loss of memory for some, but not all events occurring within a period

•Generalized-loss of memory beginning with an event, but extending back in time; may lose sense of identity; may fail to recognize family and friends

•Continuous- rare; forgetting of both old and new information and events

•All forms of the disorder are similar in that the amnesia interferes primarily with a person’s memory of personal material

Memory for abstract or encyclopedic information usually remains intact

oClinicians do not know how common dissociative amnesia is, but many cases seem to begin during times of serious threat to health and safety

OR: depending on the rest of your symptoms:

•Dissociative identity disorder

oA person with dissociative identity disorder develops two or more distinct personalities each with a unique set of memories, thought, behaviors, and emotions

oMay clinicians consider the disorder to be rare, but some reports suggest that it may be more common than once thought

oMost cases are first diagnosed in late adolescence or early adulthood

•Symptoms generally begin in childhood after episodes of abuse

Typical onset is before age 5

oWomen receive the diagnosis three times as often as men

oAt any given time, one of the subpersonalities dominates the person’s functioning

•Usually one of these subpersonalities called the primary, or host, personality appears more often than the others

•The transition from one subpersonality to the next is usually sudden and may be dramatic

oHow do subpersonalities interact

•The relationship between or among subpersonalities varies from case to case

Generally there are three kinds of relationships

oHow do subpersonalities interact?

•Mutually amnesic relationships-suppersonalities have no awareness of one another

•Mutually cognizant patterns-each subpersonalitiy is aware of the rest

•One way amnesic relationships-most common pattern; some personalities are aware of others, but the awareness is not mutual

Those who are aware are “quiet observers”

•Investigators used to believe that most cases of the disorder involved two or three subpersonalities

Studies now suggest that the average number is much higher-15 for women 8 for men

•There have been cases of more than 100

•How do subpersonalities differ?

Subpersonalities often display dramatically different characteristics including:

•Identifying features

oSubpersonalities may differ in features as basic as age, sex, race, and family history

•Often display dramatically different characteristics, including:

oAbilities and preferences

•Although encyclopedic knowledge is usually not affected by dissociative amnesia or fugue, in DID it is often disturbed

•It is not uncommon for different subpersonalities to have different abilities including being able to drive, speak a foreign language, or play an instrument

•Physiological responses

oResearchers have discovered that subpersonalities may have physiological differences such as differences in autonomic nervous system activity blood pressure, and allergies

Is there such a thing as "psychic ability" and do I have something similar?

Is there such a thing as "psychic ability" and do I have something similar?

All humans possess a certain amount of psychic ability, even though some may never be aware of it.

Examples like the following happens daily around the world, the feeling that the phone is going to ring... and it does. Or you know who it is that is calling. A song is playing in your head and when you turn on the radio, and it is playing the same song. The feeling that a close friend or relative is in trouble or needs your help at that moment... and you soon learn that is actually the case. Abraham Lincoln, a former US President, sensed his impending death three days in advance. Normally, this sudden insight usually happens when something extraordinary is about to happen.

Some feel that all these are just mere coincidence, others feel that there is something more profound taking place. Many researchers believe it is a shared consciousness - or super-consciousness that connects all people or even all living things.

ESP researchers suspect that not all people have this remarkable ability to varying degrees. The ability is often like the musical talent. Some people are naturally gifted with the ability to play and compose music, and practice makes them better. Others must learn and practice in more difficulties to be able to play an instrument even in the simplest way. But nearly everyone can learn to play to some degree. The same may hold true for psychic abilities. Many psychic ability training and test had already proven this.

In fact, Jose Silva, founder of The Silva Method, which was first presented in 1966, spent 22 years studying the world’s greatest minds of every discipline – including scientists, religious gurus, non-traditional healing groups, psychologists and eastern philosophers, and claimed to have developed a program that trained people to enter certain brain states of enhanced awareness. The technique train the brain to reach and sustain a higher state of mental functioning, called alpha state, where brainwave frequency is eight to thirteen Hz. Today, already there are more than a million people attended the Silva Method seminar and training courses.
