Walpurgis Night is the debut album by German heavy metal band Stormwitch. This album is often considered one of the best of Stormwitch's discography and the title track "Walpurgis Night" is usually a favourite at the band's concerts.

Midnight, April 30, we'll light our bonfires. We celebrate the AllFather, Oðin, grasping the runes that night after hanging on Yggdrasil for nine days. He ritually dies for an instant as he grasps the runes. Chaos and darkness reign and the dead have free roam over the earth. At midnight the AllFather blazes back to life in a blinding shaft of light and order is restored. So that's when we light our bonfires.

We've been holding blót every night for the past several nights as part of this tradition, actually. I usually do a small, informal one just for me every morning, but the entire Kindred has been meeting for a blót for the festival of Walpurgis every night since the 22. We've not been doing the traditional feast at the end of the blót, as we do with the more formal ones. We're doing that after we light our bonfires on April 30/May 1. And what a feast that will be! This is the only time of year we hold blót and *don't* have a feast after we close it. So we're getting kind of hungry. LOL! ☺
