What You Think Upon Grows Day 2024 is on Friday, May 31, 2024: Why looked down upon?

Friday, May 31, 2024 is What You Think Upon Grows Day 2024. What You Think Upon Grows Upon You Day - May 31 What you think upon grows.

Why looked down upon?

Back in the day it was normal for people your age to get married. Nowadays because of the high divorce rate, everyone thinks that you have to be of a certain age to make such a major decision. In reality, there are plenty of people who were married young that made it work. Just like there are plenty of people who married in their late 30s or 40s and couldn't make it work. It just depends on the people....let it go in one ear and out the other!

Has something made your day yet?

Has something made your day yet?

It is a sunny afternoon here which is great, as it was raining this morning.

What made my day was to wake up to a text message from my dad to say that our football team won its match this afternoon. I live in England, my dad in Australia, so he has the advantage of nine hours of time ahead of me. It was great to have that little message from home to know that I am remembered and loved...and of course the good news that we won as well.

Church was awesome this morning, so that was nice too.

And I was home in time to watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics, and the excitement that in four years' time the games are coming HERE!

Sometimes life in England is good...even if you are Australian.

Thanks for the question, you made me think of all that joy for a second time!

:-)

(God bless mate, and get well soon Fireball!)

Hair Growth Cycle

Hair on the scalp grows about .3-.4 mm/day or about 6 inches per year. Unlike other mammals, hair growth and loss is random and not seasonal or cyclic. At any given time, a random number of hairs will be in various stages of growth and shedding. There are three stages of hair growth: catagen, telogen, and anagen.

Catagen - The catagen phase is a transitional stage and 3% of all hairs are in this phase at any time. This phase lasts for about 2-3 weeks. During this time growth stops and the outer root sheath shrinks and attaches to the root of the hair. This is the formation of what is known as a club hair.

Telogen - Telogen is the resting phase and accounts for 10-15% of all hairs. This phase lasts for about 100 days for hairs on the scalp and much longer for hairs on the eyebrow, eyelash, arm and leg.

Now for the nail growth. Nails grow at an average rate of 0.01 centimeters a day (1 cm every 100 days). Fingernails require 4 to 6 months to regrow completely. Toenails require 12 to 18 months. Actual growth rate is dependent upon age, season, exercise level, and hereditary factors.
