White shirt after Labor Day?

No one really follows that rule anymore but white was a symbol of summer and the rule was no white after labor day (which is considered the end of summer) and then you can start wearing again at the start of summer (memorial day). My mom who is in her sixties still goes by this rule but I think that rule is ridiculous and I wear what I want when I want. Younger people don't know this rule because people my age (in their forties) are way to cool for that RULE!!!!
