there is a woman's history month? ha when is it?
but as for a woman that made a significant difference in people's life i would go with author/philosopher Ayn Rand. her two most known books, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged were both bestsellers and extremely influential(she also wrote many more). and her philosophy, Objectivism has gained world wide status and is growing. the link should tell you everything you need to know about Ayn and her ideas. hope it helps
or if you're looking for something more historical i would go Joan of Arc.
What are your views on women's history month?
That its very similar to Black History month?
EDIT-- If you want my honest opinion, I'm a history major who will be specializing in Women in the Ancient World (with emphasizes on Greece and Rome). I love women history because 1) you learn about things that are not normally widely known and 2) there are some d@mn interesting women out there. I'm not sure if I agree with a Women's History month, though I do think there should be more emphasis on women in history (especially in university Western Civ classes). There is no reason to exclude women from most classes just because less is known about them.
*I personally have an interest in Women in Ancient Military History. Now THAT is an interesting topic...
