World Youth Day (WYD) is an event for young people organized by the Catholic Church.

The 23rd World Youth Day was a Catholic youth festival that started on 15 July and continued until 20 July 2008 in Sydney, Australia.

World Youth Day (WYD) in 2009 will probably be held at St Peter’s Square in Rome on Palm Sunday on 5 April 2009.

While WYD is celebrated every year, it is held in Rome two of those years and then every third year somewhere else internationally.
