Wednesday, January 1, 2025 is Z Day 2025. Zombies are fictional undead creatures regularly encountered in horror and fantasy themed works. They are typically depicted as mindless, reanimated corpses with a hunger for human flesh, and particularly for human brains in some depictions.

A lot of processes, systems and organizations use alphabetical sorting as standard Z Day gives individuals whose names start with Z’s and then letters an opportunity to go first lined up, to obtain selected earlier and also to stand it front for something new.

Day Z will require ARMA II and ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead to operate. You can buy these online as ARMA II: Combined Operations via Steam for about $25. I can't recall correctly what other offers can come with the purchase (you may sometimes be able to get ARMA X Anniversary, OFP: CWC etc with it) but these will be irrelevant. You may also sometimes be able to get some of the ARMA II: OA DLCs with it such as British Armed Forces and PMC, however most of the content used by Day Z that came with these DLCs is already in OA.

Once you have that, I recommend getting DayZ Commander (or Play With Six, if you intend on playing other mods) and downloading Day Z (current version is 1.7.7.1.) This will allow you to play Day Z on Chernarus (the original map.) Other maps are available for download as well through Day Z commander such as Lingor, Namalsk, Taviana (MUST HAVE) and Origins. Some Day Z maps such as Dayz 1944 may require other mods (DayZ 1944 requires Invasion 1944, and Namalsk will require Namalsk Crisis, so if you want to play these maps I recommend using Play With Six to get the appropriate mods required.)

After that, just find a server you like through the browser on Day Z commander and double click - it will automatically manage the correct mods to boot up with Combined Ops to play that particular map.

That being said, if you only want to get Combined Ops purely to play Day Z, you may want to consider waiting for the Day Z Standalone game currently in development. It's a bit shady on what is going to happen, but it does appear a working Alpha is only a few weeks away. Definitely will be on my to get list.

how do i occupy Day Z?

You need to have ARMA 2 + ARMA2: Operation Arrowhead. Since Day Z is a mod for the game.

Then go to the website,

Click Download Dayz at the top left hand corner.

Click and Download Six Updater Suite

Run it, install Six Launcher

Update and install the game

Choose a server and enter and play.

Note: If you're using STEAM you want to open and run ARMA2 and OA first if you haven't already so they can update, then download Six Launcher

Pretty simple, there are other ways to download Day Z other than the Six launcher but I prefer it because it updates automatically with all the files, while if you dont I think you have to do it manually and drag all the files into the folder.

Day Z is a mod at the moment and not a full game. Mods can't be on Xbox, so never. But there is a very very similar game called The War Z that is in testing stage at the moment for PC. That game might come to consoles eventually, if it sells well on PC.
