When is National Beer Day in the USA?

National Beer Day is on April 7th. There are a couple other similar questions on yahoo that point to Oct. 27th, 2009 as National Beer Day, but that is wrong. Oct. 27th, 2009 is American Beer Day, not US National Beer Day. It is a celebration of beer brewed in America, not the craft of beer in general.

In 1933 during the prohibition era, the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed into law by President Franklin Roosevelt on March 23rd. That law was enacted on April 7th allowing the brewing and sale of beer in the United States again as long as it was < 3.2% (4% ABV). It's said that people waited in line overnight on April 6th outside Milwaukee breweries in order to legally buy beer for the first time in over 13 years. April 7th is known as National Beer Day and April 6th is called New Beers Eve.

is drinking two beers a day too much?

is drinking two beers a day too much?

Drinking two beers a day is great. What the main health attraction of any alcoholic beverage associated with health is ethanol. Ethanol has an ability to thin blood tissue which helps with its entire functioning. This reduces risk of cardiovascular decay (within reason) and increases alcohol's health related value. Sometimes a beer is not highly refined so it retains many of the nutrients derived from the ingredients it was made from. We see this today in many "craft" or traditionally made beers. Also to some extent the full-bodied beers carry more of the health benefit carrying nutrients than thinner lighter bodied beers thus increasing their contribution to the health value of beer. Make no bones about it, beer can be healthy but only if drank within a small window. That window, in reality and not the silly anti-binge-drinking/medical superiority/social moralists and neoprohibitionists drive to reduce drinking to a sip a day modern diatribe, is about 40 ounces [more or less] (forties are good) a day for the "average" male.

Sure drink your two beers and enjoy them, Dudweiser and Crapling () included.
