Effective communication in relationships?

Here's a short quote that might give you some insight.

I cannot change the past, or predict what the future holds. All I can do is live for the day at hand, learn from the past, but don't dwell on it, and hope for the future.

Holding things in and bottling all your emotions up is never ever a good thing. I used to be the same way, but I've learned that being open and honest and talking about things in the moment is not as hard as we sometimes make it to be. I'm not sure what has happened in the past or what all you are bottling up, but I do know that you need to kick that habit ASAP. It's not good for you or him or your relationship. Girls remember things a lot longer than men do, so if you bring something up that may have happened a month or so ago, he may not remember and just be totally confused, so, if you're upset about something or whatever you are feeling, if its an appropriate time and place bring it up right then and there and let the past go. You can't change the things that happened then, but you can always have a better tomorrow. :)

Here are a few ideas for you to communicate with families in a child care setting.

-Have family night workshops. Once a month have a (1 hour) workshop or meeting with the parents to talk about what some issues are in the child care center. Let them ask questions if they are concerned about anything. At the end of the meeting open up that last 15 minutes for the parents to talk to you privately about their child needs or concerns.

-Send out weekly emails to the families to let them know what the recent or most frequent notices are. Example: talk about the recent germs going on in the daycare center. Remind parents to pack extra diapers for their child.

-Have each parent update their emergency contact numbers every 6 months. Sometimes a parent gets a new work or new cell phone number and they forget to tell you this.
