Implementing a meat-free, vegetarian diet can conserve to some hundred creatures each year. That’s quite a hefty toll whenever you add up during the period of an eternity, so here’s to individuals who place it out as vegetarians – Hug A Vegetarian Day aims to combat the stigma of vegetarianism and also to recognise and reward individuals who undertake the difficulties of maintaining a vegetarian diet.

My husband is very aware of today's big events! So his "hug" will definitely lead into more so that he can brag about doing a vegetarian on hug a vegetarian day! I know TMI, but he has declared this!!

For all seriousness, aside from my kids, I only personally, in the flesh, know two other vegetarians that live cross country! So all the hugs I send out are cyber! And this is my first time celebrating, though last year at this time I was a vegetarian, without knowledge of such a day!!

but sorry... i don't have any links. you can try taking balloons or something, or hanging a sign from your neck that says, "hug me! i'm a vegetarian." lame, i know. i'm not that creative of a person. maybe you can make a club at school for veggies, so every like, monday or thursday can be veggie day! oh my... i'm so lame. sorry... :]

Darn, I missed that one. I did celebrate National Talk Like A Pirate Day on Sept. 19th though. Arrrhhh! People thought I was crazy, those scurvy dogs!
