Hi there.

Congratulations on your new baby! I'm sorry that the birth did not go as planned. Research indicates that the risk of uterine rupture is lower when deliveries are spaced at minimum 18months apart. The risk of Uterine Rupture is less than half of one percent (0.4%) when labor is allowed to progress naturally. If induction agents are used the rate increases slightly but remains less than 1%. The majority of uterine ruptures will NOT be deadly to Mom or baby. There is a lot you can do and read to prepare for a VBAC. I would strongly encourage you to get in contact with your local ICAN chapter (International Cesarean Awareness Network) If you don't have a chapter near you you can find online support at www.ican-online.org.
