This won't help with the future daddy issue, but look for your local Healthy Families agency. Healthy Families America strives to provide all expectant and new parents with the opportunity to receive the education and support they need at the time their baby is born.

Healthy Families America is a national program model designed to help expectant and new parents get their children off to a healthy start. Families participate voluntarily in the program and receive home visiting and referrals from trained staff. By providing services to overburdened families, Healthy Families America fits into the continuum of services provided to families in many communities.

The Staff of Healthy Families America programs:

Ensure families have a medical provider;

Share information on children's development processes;

Assist families in identifying their baby's needs and obtaining certain resources;

Support families in the home while they respond to their child's and their own needs;

Share ideas on caring for babies, toddlers, and young children;

Link families with other resources in the community for assistance with job placement, identification of day care providers, etc.;

Assist families in following up with recommended immunization schedules; and

Help families feel more empowered.
