Helmet face shields/visors - dark smoke vs mirror?

I utilize both, dark smoke is horrible at night time, mirror is much better, I also like mirror though during the day time even when riding straight into the sun. The dark smoke lens to me does not do to much and I think it is kind of worthless. The only problem with the mirror lens is the scratches. The scratches are not your normal scratches on a lens and make things look very weird. I do not know how to explain it but even the smallest scratch you will see with a mirror lens and your eyes seem to want to focus on it. I have also had a couple of friends that have had the same problem with mirrored lenses. For the best visibility though I would go with mirror, due to its ability to be able to be used both night and day, although I do have a clear lens just in case.
