SO MANY FAE-SO LITTLE TIME!!!!

A Recipe to See the Fae

On a Dawn morn or dusk eve, find a special bottle, a pretty one the Fae would like that is.

And pour into it

1 cup gathered spring or rain water

1 teaspoon of Pink Rose petals

1/2 teaspoon Lavender flowers

Add 3 Quartz crystals

Add 3 Amethyst Chips

1 pinch of Faery sugar (see recipe below)

Nine inch piece of pink ribbon

Now hide this away in a dark cool place for three days. On the third day, again at dawn or dusk, in a place you think you might spot the Fae, like an Oak tree, backyard or mushroom patch in the forest. Even a potted plant, herb or Flower will do. Tie a nine inch piece of Pink ribbon arond bottle neck. Next, close your eyes and sprinkle 9 drops over each eyelid of your 'Faery Potion Water', careful not to get it IN your eyes! Next recite this Faery incantation and watch for the Fae.

Do you see the Faery?

'Ribbon of pink, I just might think.

I would like to see the Fae today.

Special sight of Faerys flight,

Send to me the way today.

A sprinkle here a sprinkle there,

A secret spell I say today.

Wispy wings and little things,

Are what Id like to see today.'

PLEASE note this may need to be repeated to see the Fae, as they are VERY cautious little creatures!

the fae come in all shapes and sizes, colors, and moods, some are evil and mischievous and curse humans, some are fun loving, so are silly, some are ugly, some are beautiful, it depends on the fae you seek out

Banshee or Benshee - an Irish fairy attached to a house. Common name for the Irish Bean Sidhe (see below). In Scotland the banshee is known as caoineag (wailing woman) and, although seldom seen, she often heard in the hills and glens, by lakes or running water.

Bean Sidhe - In Irish folklore, the Bean Sidhe (woman of the hills) is a spirit or fairy who presage a death by wailing. She is popularly known as the Banshee. She visits a household and by wailing she warns them that a member of their family is about to die. When a Banshee is caught, she is obliged to tell the name of the doomed. The antiquity of this concept is vouched for by the fact that the Morrigan, in a poem from the 8th century, is described as washing spoils and entrails. It was believed in County Clare that Richard the Clare, the Norman leader of the 12th century, had met a horrible beldame, washing armor and rich robes "until the red gore churned in her hands", who warned him of the destruction of his host. The Bean Sidhe has long streaming hair and is dressed in a gray cloak over a green dress. Her eyes are fiery red from the constant weeping. When multiple Banshees wail together, it will herald the death of someone very great or holy. The Scottish version of the Banshee is the Bean Nighe. Aiobhill is the banshee of the Dalcassians of North Munster, and Cliodna is the banshee of the MacCarthys and other families of South Munster.

To colt-pixy is to take what belongs to the pixies, and is specially applied to the gleaning of apples after the crop has been gathered in; these apples were the privilege of the pixies, and to colt-pixy is to deprive the pixies of their perquisites.

Dagda - king of the fairy race of the Tuatha de Danann in Irish mythology. He was celebrated not only for his prowess with a battle club, magic harp and cauldron, but was also known for his greed and cruelty.

Daoine maite - Literally, the good people. They are the fairies of contemporary Irish folklore.

Dones d'aigua - Dones d'aigua (Maids of the Water) are typical beings of Cataluña, and they appear in many myths. They live in any place where they can find clean water (wells, springs, fountains, lakes), but they can also be found in woods and caves. They appear as women of incredible beauty, although half of their body can be fish- or bird-like (as for many other faeries of Spanish folklore and Indo-European myths). Dones d'aigua often guard wonderful treasures. They are always good and kind to humans.

Duende - a Spanish house-spirit.

Dwarf - a diminutive being human or superhuman.

Dwerger, Dwergugh or Duergar - Gotho-German dwarfs, dwelling in rocks and hills

Earthmen, The - gnomes and fairies of the mines. They are a solemn race, but they can laugh and dance most merrily

Elf - fairies of diminutive size, found mainly in Teutonic and Norse folklore, the elves were originally the spirits of the dead who brought fertility. Later they became supernatural beings, shaped as humans, who are either very beautiful (elves of light) or extremely ugly (dark / black elves). They were worshipped in trees, mountains and waterfalls. The Danish elves are beautiful creatures, but they have hollow backs. The Celtic elves are the size of humans. They were supposed to be fond of practical jokes.

Erreka-Mari - A chieftain among the faeries, this is a Mari siren (Erreka means creek) that lives near small streams. Her name changes according to toponymia, and she's also known as Mari-Arroka or Mari-Muruko.

Fair Family/Fair Folk - Welsh nickname

Fairy or Faerie - a super-natural being, fond of pranks, but generally pleasing. Of nursery mythology they are the personification of Providence. The good ones are called fairies, elves, elle-folks, and fays; the evil ones are urchins, ouphes, ell-maids, and ell-women. Alternate spellings include: Faerie, Fai, Faierie, Faiery, Fair, Fairye, Farie, Fary, Fay, Fayerie, Fayery, Fayry, Fee, Feiri, Fery, Fey, Feyrie, Feyrye, Phairie, Pharie, Pherie (from the Latin: Fata "Fates").

Familiar - an evil spirit attendant on witches, etc; a spirit often embodied in an animal and held to attend and serve or guard a person.

Fand - In Celtic myth Fand is a faery queen, who was once married to the sea god Manannan. After he left her she was preyed upon by three Fomorian warriors in a battle for control of the Irish Sea. Her only hope in winning the battle was to send for the hero Cuchulainn who would only agree to come, if she would marry him. She reluctantly acquiesced to his wishes, though when she met him, she fell as deeply in love with him as he was with her. Manannan knew that the relationship between the human world and the world of the faery could not continue without in eventually destroying the faeries. He erased the memory of one from the other by drawing his magical mantle between the two lovers. Fand was

When she was 4, she wished she could wear makeup, and ::mini skirts:: Now, she wishes she could play in the mud, and sleep with her teddy bear that used to be her best friend… she used to wish for change, and now her wish finally came true, after that she would do anything, to stop everything from diversifying

Do anything and everything in life… because there’s gonna come a time when you think back when you were just a kid; When you’re biggest fear was that Santa Claus was gonna give you coal for Christmas. That you’d stick your tooth under our pillow, and t he tooth fairy would forget to leave you a 5 dollar bill…And that it wouldn't cross the Easter Bunny’s mind to leave you a basket of treats. Then you’ll see that you’re only fear you can’t seem to get over is the fear that all those little childhood worries are just gonna be memories… and before you know it, you’d be the one saying, “ Wow, those were the days…”

She changed her hair, painted her nails, and renewed her wardrobe; She changed herself because she wanted to be noticed by the jock that every girl fell for… But while she was doing so, she lost her [ number 1 ] secret admirer. The guy that thought she was perfect when she wore too much make-up, and when she dressed in ripped jeans. The guy that dreamt about being with her, while she dreamt of being with another…

"Sometimes, you gotta teach yourself how to get up from a hard fall... cuz if you call for someone's help... they just might push you back down.... "

There was once a girl who hung out with her friends every Friday night. A girl who would say Lol after every 4 words, she would laugh when she slipped while ice-skating, and just flowed through life without a problem. Over the summer, the girl fell, but not from ice-skating, no, but for a boy. He was perfect; Perfect hair, smile, everything…he told her he loved her one day. But little did she know she was caught in his trap. Days later, she got a call from him saying, “I don’t love you anymore, you’re not worth the affection…” and the phone was hung up. School started, and the girl walked to lunch alone, laughed, but only when she thought about how stupid she was to fall for him, and discarded all of her friends from any future “Friday night fun.” What happened to the up-beat loving girl? I’m really starting to miss her more and more.

Friends are the ones that would give the world to you. Best friends are the ones that already have… <\33

And sometimes I wish I was still 6 years old. Because the hardest thing I had to deal with then, was Ken breaking Barbie’s heart. But now…now I must be Barbie, because Ken simply destroyed me…

Imagine a world without war. A world without AIDS. A world never poor, because everyone got paid. A world with clean air, so everyone could breathe. A world where leukemia didn’t still your hair, and where going blind allowed you to see. Imagine a world with endless dreams, dreamt will all eyes open. A world filled with sunshine beams, and words for the def spoken. Imagine a world in color, and the black and [white] will soon go, a world where we love each other, and where every star can glow.

I wish you knew everything like you say you do.

Because if you knew how much you’re on my mind

or how much you’ve got me sprung…

Maybe your *** would start to come around.

&& for once she wants to be the person to have a secret admirer.

The person to be thought of 24 hours, 7 days a week.

She wants to be the person that gets all those stupid love notes.

She wants to feel the feeling of having someone sprung over her.

&& for once, just once, she wants to be told that she's loved by someone

who actually means it...without having to tell them she loves them first.

I wish I could pause everything. I wish i could put my life on hold, just for a second. I wish I freeze my tears for a little while. I wish I could put emotions on layaway until I know how to handle them. There’s a difference between, “You can’t have everything in life,” and, “You can’t talk without taking action.” Believe me, I would grant all my wishes if I had the power. But I don’t. So the only other choice I have is to close my eyes, and runaway. Bend down to my knees and just pray. Be thankful for what I have this very day. And for everything I’ve been blessed to say.

Depend on no one because in life there’s a road you take. And one day, that road splits in two. At the end of each road is success, or failure. This isn’t a “guessing game,” it’s a, “You’re the only one that can choose your destiny.” By depending on no one, you make your own decision on you’re life. So choose wisely because either way, there’s no one to blame around you.

Yesterday was a day before today. Tomorrow is after today. Today is after yesterday, but before tomorrow. Yesterday is behind both tomorrow and today. Today is between yesterday and tomorrow. So tomorrow will be today after yesterday. Which ever way it goes… live for right now. Because those days aren’t guaranteed… not even to the richest man

**Flashback;

Turn back in time where you used to sit 4 hours watching the Rugrats. Where you wouldn’t ever leave your house without your nano baby, and when Blues Clues was actually challenging. Rewind back to the times when your favorite shows were Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Pinky and the Brain, AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!, and Rocko’s modern Life. When you watched re-runs of TGIF, Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World. When you remember reading every series of Goosebumps, or in that case, remember listening to your mom read them as she grew bored and bored and as you grew more excited as to what would happen next. When bringing plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school was pretty much cool, and saying “NOT,” after every sentence was the way to talk. When every argument was settled by rock paper scissors, bubble gum bubble gum in a dish, or daddy had a donkey inky binky bonky. When cops and robbers was a daily activity, and when hide and go seek was put to pause only when it was snack time. The days when we used to actually obey our parents and when the radio was all we depended on for music. When you knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green ranger, were meant to be together. When you always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny…so you gave up. When the Magic School Bus made you think that school buses could fly, and when yo-yos made you popular. When getting married meant buying your crush a Ring Pop, and blabbing some random words behind the dumpster. When reading that little paper in the fortune cookie meant everything to you because it predicted your life. The days when you could tell furbie all your little secrets and expect him to talk back, and when Beanie Babies were the talk of the class. When you got creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" And when you knew the Macarena by heart. When you lied to your parents to bring you to McDonalds because you were starving, when really, you wanted to play in the play place. When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing, and when checking out drawing books and "Rainbow Fish" from the library was the cool thing to do.

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear we didn’t bother to think of how good things were.

Flashback…to the world we live in now.

Think that you're always going to be your own individual? Well wait till one morning when you look in the mirror & you're just like everybody else.

Dear Boy,

So maybe you & I were supposed to end this way, both going in our own directions. We are two completely different people and no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't overcome our differences. No, I'm not sad that it's over between us, but yet I'm not happy either. We had something special, but in the end the sparks just didn't cut it. Anyways, I'm mostly writing this letter to tell you I've met someone else, someone else who can make me smile & give me butterflies. Someone who reaches for my hand first and likes to rub my thumb, just like you did. He knows that I love it when boys hold the door open for me & I love to joke around. He makes me happier then I've been in a long time. Maybe he could be the one, who knows? But Boy, I want to thank you, you showed me what love was, what love meant. I hope someday you find the perfect girl, because obviously I never was and never will be; at least not for you. I wish you all the love & happiness in the world; all I ever wanted was for you to be happy and I guess now, I'm finally getting my wish. Goodbye boy, never forget me. I love you!

Sincerely, Me

*I was really only coming to your house that night...to pick up my movies and a few sweatshirts I left there. I wasn't looking for a conversation. I wasn't searching for one last good bye kiss. You had moved on, and I had convinced myself that getting back my stuff... was the last step, and then I too would move on. But as I grabbed the movies off the shelf and turned to face you for the last time... I felt my heart start to beat faster and the butterflies I kept telling myself weren't there...started to make me smile. And as you came closer my palms started sweating. It was like...the past month, we had forgotten what we made. What we had. And in a matter of minutes, it came back to us. As you put your hand on my face and we kissed...I felt like my heart, slowly became unbroken...and all the tears, were suprisingly worth it...and I realized that maybe losing you was what I needed... to show myself that...you truly are my everything...and then baby, we fell completely in love with eachother...all over again.*

I'm so tired of falling and picking myself up.

I've fallen one too many times, And I can't keep

learning from my mistakes. I've done my part so

it's time you do yours. You can do one of two things.

You can make things right, or leave them wrong.

Everyone says love hurts.

When actually love doesn't hurt.

Love didn't leave you for some other girl,

it didn't cheat on you, nor did it break your heart.

So stop blaming love for once and start blaming

the as shole that treated you like crap and gave you up

How far do I have to go to make you understand

I wanna make this work so much it hurts, but I just can't

keep on giving, go on living with the way things are

So I'm gonna walk away

And it's up to you to say how far

And no, there's never going to be more than this; I have better things to do than sit and give it all to you. Sometimes I don't have enough of a backbone to tell it like it is, but I swear I won't ever let you know how I feel. I won't ever let a sentence with the slightest indication of me wanting you leave my lips,

and that's something I know dang well.

I don't want someone constantly

Saying I'm beautiful or hot or sexy.

I want someone who will fight with me,

Tell me he hates me

And acts like he's crying just so I will kiss him.

I want someone who will make fun of me,

Do things with him, And his friends,

And not always do everything I say.

I don't want the "perfect guy" to every other girl.

I want my perfect guy.

The one who is no where near perfect

And knows I'm not either,

But loves me anyways.

Don't base your decisions

on the advice of people

who don't have to deal with the results.

Yeah i really loved you

but i regret it all now

You want to know why I love you? its cus

you loved me when I didn't love myself.

its cus you held up my beauty for me to see.

its cus you cared unconditionally,

just the way I was. it was cus for the

first time in my life.. I didn't have to work

so hard at being happy

I'm so sick of immaturity, of name calling,

of labels, of gossip..of High school.

It doesn't make sense any more. &

I find myself being nice to people

that I rather kill.

Always be a first-rate version

of yourself instead of second-rate

version of somebody else..

& you know what I liked the best?

How hours after you kissed me,

I still felt it on my lips.

Friends are friends,

& in some cases,

that's all they`ll ever be.

Because guys like you

are the reason they made waterproof mascara.

Doesnt it suck when he knows just

how you feel about him and he doesnt do

a thing about it because he just doesnt care??

If you have to try an convince yourself you don't

care about someone- you care about them more than

you think.

Why should i do my makeup?

why should i do my hair?

it's not like tomorrow

you will suddenly start to care

Sometimes I want to get into an accident,

Not for the attention,

But just to see how much you "care".

And it's because of you that everything lately seems to be so hard.

Don't ever say it wasn't meant to be,

Because if it wasn't you wouldn't have gotten involved in the first place. <

What do you think fairies look like?

What do you think fairies look like?

The following is not my "version" of what a fairy looks like. It is what SHE really did look like... Her name was Violate she lived in the garden of our home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was tiny, purple and smelled like flowers. Her hair was in pretty little ringlets that made a lovely tinkling sound whenever she shook her head. She had wings that were only apparent when she flew and when in flight she might have been mistaken for a butterfly. I played, sang and danced with herand her folk for one spring and most of the summer when I was 5. Of Angels and Fairies

When I was very young I could speak as clearly as any adult. I’m not sure why but I do remember thinking that to talk was the greatest thing. And so some how I learned to talk before I could walk. It got me a lot of attention at first but some people became afraid of me. I’m sure it must’ve seemed weird that a little girl that could barely walk could carry on a conversation. But there you have it I could talk, but mostly I repeated what was said to me, a bit like a parrot. When someone would say, “How are you today?” I learned to say, “FINE, how are YOU today?” It is a bit different but mostly just parroting what they had previously said. In such a way I learned the art of conversation.

My dear granny, my mommy’s mom, taught me verses from the bible. John 3-16 “ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That who so ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” A devout Southern Baptist she would take me to church and all of the people would marvel at my “GIFT”, as they called it. “What a little angel!” they’d say. Granny was so very happy that she read the bible to me every chance she got so I could memorizes its passages.

For Christmas that year I was instructed by my dear granny in the telling of the story of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Starting First with Matthew 1:1, “ The book of generations of Jesus Christ, conception and birth. Eventually ending with the last verse of granny’s favorite Christmas hymn, “Silent Night”. There was a hush in the chapel as I sang. The lights above the pulpit seemed to twinkle as the star proclaiming his holey birth. As I ended with, “Sleep in heavenly peace,” I placed my hands together as in prayer and bowed gratefully. Granny was very proud of me and everyone said that I sang like an angel!

I admit I was a bit full of myself. At this point I almost believed myself to be the angel that the parishioners proclaimed me to be.

I was four when my father, a devout atheist, decided to put a stop to the whole thing. So one day he taught me some limericks that he had heard at the bar.

“There was a man from Nantucket.

Who went to hell in a bucket.

But when he got there they asked for his fare.

He stuck out his bum and said, SUCK IT!”

I was so pleased to have something new to share with my friends I repeated the limerick as soon as we arrived at the Sunday meeting. Needless to say, granny never took me to church again. I didn’t realize what had happened at the time and thought that granny hated me. I was a very sad little girl after that and would hardly speak to anyone.

I spent most of my time outside in mommy’s garden. Among the lilacs, roses and shrubbery that encircled our yard. It was there I met Violet. She was tiny, purple and smelled like flowers. She had the loveliest soprano voice and she sang with me every day. (Although I cannot remember any of the songs now.) She was fun to play with and I spent all that spring and most of the summer with her.

Every morning I’d wake up at the crack of dawn. I was filled with anticipation for the fun and surprises each new day would bring! I was oh so quiet as I slipped out of my bed and into my clothes. Giggling inside myself, thinking of the wonderful games my tiny purple friend and me would play that day. What joy, what fun and laughter filled my child’s heart!

One day in particular as I tiptoed out of the back door, I found Violet waiting on the stoop of the back porch. “It’s Summer Solstice!” she gleefully announced. “Time for dancing and trouping about the countryside!”

Her sweet little face was all a-flush with excitement and the little curls of her lavender hair seemed to make a lovely tinkling with every gentle breeze.

“Oh my!” I exclaimed. “This will be a fun day!”

We walked into the woods behind our house, and at the foot of a gnarled old oak tree there was what first looked like hundreds of butterflies. Each of them a different color! But as we got closer I could see that they were the same sort of folk as Violet.

It started softly at first, as a faint whisper on the summer breeze. Then the sound grew louder and sweeter. It was a song!

”Rapture of the sun, sing, dance and all have fun!

We rest when the day is done. Oh rapture of the sun.
