Domino Day 2009

The Domino Day 2005 sparrow, generally known as the domino sparrow () was a House Sparrow, Passer domesticus, that was shot and killed by a hunter from the company Duke Faunabeheer in the Frisian Expo Centre in Leeuwarden, Netherlands during the preparations of Domino Day 2005 on 14 November 2005. With only four days to go until Domino Day 2005, the bird flew into the building and landed on several domino bricks, eventually causing 23,000 of them (out of 4 million) to fall.

How does a typical day look like for someone who works at dominos?

How does a typical day look like for someone who works at dominos?

Below are employee reviews at Dominos, pros and cons, various locations/states which is common to most fast food place but you have to start somewhere to gain experience and a pay check. Good Luck!

“Every store is different”

Pros

When it's busy, you get hours

Depending on who you are working with, your shift flies by

You can literally start at the bottom and work you way up. It's easy to become a manager in a matter of months even if you can't make a pizza correctly...trust me I've seen it happen several times

Cons

You are overworked and underpaid especially if you are a CSR

You constantly have to deal with rude customers who complain over the littlest mistake

When you get busy, everything gets chaotic and you have people who can't hold it together causing a chain reaction

Food and labor are always a constant worry so if labor is high, you will get sent home

The hours you are scheduled are not necessarily the hours you will work

Domino'sShift Runner in Sandy, UT: (Past Employee) “IT'S AN EASY JOB, THE PEOPLE YOU WORK WITH IS WHAT MAKES YOU STAY THERE FOR SO LONG, AND IT'S A GREAT JOB FOR STUDENTS.”

Pros

1) Management is good at giving you the time off that you request. (although I did have one time where I requested a week off months in advance and when it came down to the date my manager wanted me to come in on the first day of the week I requested off to work- I said no I have plane tickets)

2) It's a pretty kicked back, fun, easy atmosphere to work in

3) If you're a CSR like I started out as you're shifts are usually only 2-3 hrs. long

4) If you have a nice manager working- you get to eat leftover pizza or cancelled orders. Sometimes they'll make a crew pizza.

5) The people you work with are the best part about working there.

6) The job is pretty easy- the hardest thing to learn is the computers, but once you've got that down- it's super easy.

7) They're closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

8) You get a 50% discount. (which can be used at any location, but since all the workers are idiots they always forget to punch in your discount)

Cons

1) They're constantly moving managers around- so you'll have one manager you really like who will work at that location for about a month, then they'll switch them to another store and bring over someone who is horrible to work with. They do this every few months.

2) I was a CSR for three years and never recieved any kind of a raise. I only got a pay increase when I became a Shift Runner.

3) The Upper Management treats you like crap if you're a CSR or Driver. But once I became a Shift Runner- they were super nice to me.

4) They call you in constantly to come in early or to work on your day off. (I even had one time where they kept calling me and I didn't answer so the manager sent a driver to my house to see if I could come into work)

5) It's all about favoritism- what shifts you get and days you get off depends on how buddy buddy you are with management.

6) When I was hired they told me you only work one Sat. and Sun. a month to make it fair to everybody so the same people don't always get stuck working it. That was a lie- in my 4 yrs. of working there I never got a weekend off unless I had requested it off.

8) Another thing they told me when I got hired is they rotate who has to work holidays- that was a lie as well- in my 4 yrs. working there I worked every single holiday.

Domino'sCustomer Service Representative: (Current Employee) “Ok job”

Pros

you get to work with some pretty awsome people, flexible schedule, free food when an order is messed up :)

Cons

It gets pretty mundane after awhile. the same complaints from customers who are more than half the time just trying to get free food. It's almost like high school among employee's. Everybody talk about everybody. Lot's of complaints about management yet no changes ever occur. Been here for years and still no type of raise whatsoever. been offered to get into management but doesnt seem like something i would want to do nor enjoy.

Drivers stay employed there for a long time but CSR's are always changing.

Drivers think they run the store and think they don't have to help answer phone orders or help make pizzas

CSR's are the ones who take the phone orders and make the pizzas as quickly as possible and the Drivers are the ones who get all the tips while we don't see a dime of
