Origami Day

The folded paper crane is definitely an worldwide indication of peace. However, there’s much more to origami than simple wild birds, and Origami Day is about marketing the skill of paper folding and featuring incredible masterpieces.

Origami................................?

I found out about origami a couple of days ago, It's actually really fun.

1. The easiest and funnest origami creation is probably a paper balloon, you can even blow it up.

2. A paper boomerang's really fun too, it can even come back to you.

3. A traditional flapping bird is also great.

4. A paper football is fun to flick around, it's not really a football but when you flick it, it goes far.

5. A ninja star's pretty fun to make and throw around too.

6. And last of all, a nice paper butterfly to finish it off.

There's a great youtuber who teaches you and shows you how to make ALL of the above and more step by step.

He's great.

Don't be frustrated if it doesn't work the first time, some of the folds are pretty hard but keep trying, I managed to do them and I'm only 13.

Have fun(:

origami???!!!!????!!!?

origami???!!!!????!!!?

Literally uncountable. There are even 'copywrited' designs and new ones are invented every day.

To name a famous Origami master:

Kunihiko Kasahara (笠原邦彦 Kasahara Kunihiko; born in 1941) is a Japanese origami master. He has made hundreds and hundreds of models, from simple lion masks to complex modular origami, such as a small stellated dodecahedron. He does not specialize in super complex origami, but rather he likes making animals and modular polyhedra. He has written many books, of which Origami Omnibus has the most of his models.

How to use origami for day to day things?

How to use origami for day to day things?

Your public library will likely have books on origami, or they can get you some through and inter-library loan.

You can make many useful things with origami. When I worked in an office, I made small boxes of different shapes to hold paper clips, tack, elastic bands and other small items. I also had an origami candy dish, vase of flowers and a couple of small animals on the shelf.

Origami can also be used to make pencil/pen cups, business card holders, paper trays, complex compartmented boxes for holding flash drives, cassettes, CDs, or they can be used in the home for holding cutlery.

And you don't have to limit yourself to origami because there are many forms of paper crafts, and those crafts can also be used to make handy household items too. Look up kirigami, paper craft, paper bead making, scrapbooking, card making, book binding, etc. Make decorative wall hangings, thank you cards, calendars, and even children's toys with moving parts.

Most of all--have fun!
