Mini-golf, tennis, bowling,darts,wii,fishing,go to the movies, a picnic in the park,catch (grab a mit and ball and have him toss you a few) or just go for a long walk together and really talk to him. Don't forget to ask him on his next day off if he has any ideas on something the two of you can do together.

Excellent question! Have you asked the daughter what she would like to do or the father?

Take the daughter out to lunch and a movie, take her shopping for a new outfit at the mall. Or at least one new item. Go bowling, swimming, hiking, a long walk at the park, a picnic, take her to get her hair done special.

Allow time for talking, and listening on both parts. Finding something to do together, that either one or the other likes, or both likes, is really good to do. How about skating? How about dad, ask your daughter to teach you the new dance steps to her favorite music? Then, teach her to your favorite music, your dance steps. Dance together. Go to the beach, collect shells, driftwood, write with sticks in the sand. Go out for ice cream, pizza, a nice lunch, or a nice dinner.

Dad, your daughter more than likely is going to marry a guy who reminds her of you. I hope you take your wife out on dates-and also your daughter-out to dinner, etc.

I'm saying this as a woman, who as a young child, got to go to the barber shop when my dad got his hair cut, then went to a donut shop for breakfast on a Sat. morning once in awhile. My dad taught me a lot of things, that to this day I am very thankful for the fact he taught me all that he did. And, for the times we had together.

Do you like photography? That is something fun to do together. Maybe take a class at a local community college together on a favorite topic or hobby.

What do I do about the father daughter dance?

a lot of brides ( and grooms w/ mom issues) go thru this. i'm not having my dead-beat dad walk me down the aisle let alone a father-daughter dance. here's a suggestion; after your hubby dances with his mom do a fun dance with the women in your life~ it doesn't have to be a slow one! and to the guy above me she doesn't need pity or anyone to feel sorry for her! it's a small detail in your wedding and it's only a big deal if it's close to your heart. you should give your parents the respect they deserve and in your case it fits that you don't have the dance. after all it is your wedding, not a day to spotlight your dad. good luck!
