Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day or VE Day) was May 7 and May 8, 1945, the dates when the World War II Allies formally accepted the unconditional surrender of the armed forces of Nazi Germany and the end of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. On April 30, Hitler committed suicide during the Battle of Berlin, and so the surrender of Germany was authorized by his replacement, President of Germany Karl Dönitz. The administration headed up by Dönitz was known as the Flensburg government. The act of military surrender was signed on May 7 in Reims, France, and May 8 in Berlin, Germany.

Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day, also known as Victory in the Pacific Day, or V-P Day) is a name chosen for the day on which the Surrender of Japan occurred, and subsequent anniversaries of that event. The term has been applied to both the day on which the initial announcement of Japan's surrender was made in the afternoon of August 15, 1945 (August 14 North American date), as well as the date the formal surrender ceremony was performed in Tokyo on September 2, 1945.

Is it wierd that I dislike V-Day?

v-day is a corporate thing.

never underestimate the power of greed, capitalism will play on your emotions and feelings to hook you.

which is exactly why Christmas is more about materials than being with family and being thankful for what you already have.

in all honesty, if you love your significant other (emphasis on Significant) then every day should be that way.

there is no reason at all to do special things for your lover just because its Feburary 14th.

Not to mention its cold as fuck that day, so why choose that day to act all sentimental and caring when you shouldve already been doing it?

if i love you, and i have the resources, i would buy you nice things every chance i get. just because you mean something to me.

Not because some day on the calendar dictates it to me.

But thats just me. always thinking outside the box, and getting bashed for it.

single for v day?

v-day sucks completely if you're alone and that too in hs where everyone is making out in hall ways and giving gifts to their girls...if it hurts way too much bro its not a bad idea missing school that day to save yourself some pain...unless if you can hook up with someone soon...but yea taking a day off wont hurt cuz if you dont its only going to bring you some pain
