What’s wrong with weeds? Natural conditions, gardens, parks and public facilities are the place to find huge types of flowers and plants, and weeds are a fundamental part of that ecosystem. On Weed Appreciation Day, consider just how much fun you'd with dandelions growing up before you decide to pull them up and consider the number of of those weeds are actually edible (make certain to check on it’s safe!), and not surprisingly super easy to develop!

Yes, I do appreciate music differently when stoned. It is really nice to chill out and listen to some good music with a joint. I know you probably have your own tastes but I really like Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. Old but really beautiful...

However, I would say to anyone thinking of weed as purely a good thing that aside from the health stuff (which is important), the problem with weed is that it removes your drive and ambition making you feel satisfied from just smoking a joint. This is a bad thing because while all your non weed smoking peers will be out learning new skills and improving as people you will not. By the time you want to get a proper job you will realise that you have been left behind in terms of your skill sets. You become more socially closed off and a less gregarious person with little to talk about outside of smoking weed and how funny the last family guy episode was.

I am not saying don't do it, because I would be a hypocrite, after all I love the stuff and smoke it every day. I am just giving a warning because there are a lot of people out there who will either not tell you that there is any downside or overstate the downside to such degree that it is not believable. Mothers Against Drugs etc are people who have no concept of what it is and therefore tell you that you will become a crack addict within a week and will end up whoring yourself for your next fix which is total rubbish, but there are good reasons to think about it first.

What is 4/20? mentioned at school?

It's some stupid international weed appreciation day. 4/20 is the date. It's April 20th. So they call it 4/20.

What's the pros and cons on "spice" or synthetic weed?

Most were outlawed in the UK and now carry the same punishment as regular weed, up to 5 years in jail and an unlimited fine!

Prior to the ban I tried several

The effects can be similar to normal weed at times but in no way is it the same

Cons

It is very potent, which makes it very easy to take too large a dose, there's reports of some people taking fits/seizures after taking way too much, idiots trying to impress their friends, potency is maybe 10:1 if not more

Spice Gold used to make me sleep for 12 hours a time, regardless of alarms etc

No euphoria most of the time, I needed to get myself in a really good mood beforehand

No muscle relaxation

Very little deep thinking which I associate with the real stuff

Very little increased music appreciation

No increased sensations, touch, taste, smell etc

Anxiety and Paranoia are real dangers, problems I never had with the real stuff, I was out walking the dog while smoking one type and developed some paranoia which took a few months to get control of, my own fault admittedly, best to use it indoors

A lot of the blends provide a very heavy stone, couch-lock, monged etc, you probably won't be partying on the stuff

Smoking too much can be very unpleasant and certainly not like weed

The original Spice products, Gold & Diamond could give you a lethargic and dopey hangover for a while the following day

"High" generally lasts 1-2 hours and abruptly vanishes

Tolerance can build up really fast for some people, especially if they're smoking a lot

Pros

Great for insomnia

Lasts longer than you'd think due to potency

It's probably still legal

The synthetic chemicals themselves are dirt cheap, 10-20mg of JWH-018 will get you wasted

No muchies

Really nice at times

A lot of cons there but most of them are in comparison to the real thing

Like real weed it can affect people differently, a lot of reports mention no euphoria or giggle fits, which is one of the best things about real weed

It's not as bad as I make it sound, it can be quite nice, but be careful with the amounts you smoke, your friend may be able to handle much higher doses than you can and in no way try to measure as you would with the real thing

I was under a lot of stress at the time I tried them, so it may well have altered their effect on me

It didn't make me feel any better it just got me stoned

I always liked Yucatan Fire

Zohai, MX I think, was the name of the one that helped give me some paranoia, the shop mixed it up themselves rather than it being a named brand, so it was maybe too strong for me

Spice Gold always felt too strong and made me very tired, I wouldn't recommend it but some people think it's the greatest thing ever

Different synthetics have different effects, they don't cover the full range of cannabinoids that are in weed, which is why it's similar but not the same

After that massive wall of text I'll sum it up like this, imagine weed with most of the good things missing, that's it

There used to be a great resource in the "edit" forums but unfortunately the forums were wiped during the media hysteria in the UK, mainly due to persistent harassment of members and the like by journalists/news reporters trying to make a name for themselves over "legal weed" and giving the site a bad name, tons of detailed reports about effects, dosages, dangers and the rest were forever lost

There's still a few forums around with some good info, just put legal highs forums into google and find a few
