Will someone please read my Fantasy novel sample and tell me if you would enjoy the book?

Was that chapter one? It's good. I like how you described everything about LaHaven or Aidden, if that's the name of the place. And I definitely like the idea that there's a bit horror and darkness in there. And the way you ended it. Gives it a good twist. I had read it even though I'm not much of a book person

Unfortunately people taking free fiction from online sites and selling it themselves is becoming fairly common. Writing bad reviews only goes so far. If you are sure a book is plagarised you are better off requesting amazon remove it.

To ask Amazon to remove it:

1) Go to the page on Amazon with the book and look at the bottom of the page for the link "Do you believe that this item violates a copyright?"

2) Click the link next to it for instructions on how to tell Amazon about this, online or in writing. Make sure you link to the original story.

Amazon will check, and if they believe it is plagarised, they will remove it. If you can find if any other stories by that author have been borrowed, and get their original writers to report them, it would help. More reports tend to result in faster action.

Also contact Fictionpress Support, who may be able to take action as the story was originally on their site. If multiple titles are affected, give details of each and where the original can be found.

The final place to go for help would be the Writer's Cafe on Kboards. Many of the writers have experience with this and can advise on other ways to take action.

Unfortunately, if your friend didn't copyright this story, yet published it for all to read on an internet site, the story was left open for the taking.

You say that your friend isn't the best writer, so, in order to sell this story, this "Oliver" person must have edited to make it better, which would pretty much make it his own. There really isn't much your friend can do especially if she has no proof that SHE isn't the one who "stole" the story from Oliver.

Nathan says that a reviewer wrote that the story was plagiarized, but since you're asking this question, I'm guessing that the reviewer is a friend of yours. The bottom line here is that if there is no proof that Oliver is the one who plagiarized the story, nothing can be done.

Let your friend know that posting too much information is never good anywhere on the internet. Next time she feels the need to write, she should do it off line, have a friend who can help her with her writing edit it, then SHE can sell it on Amazon. The article I reference is about posting TMI on Facebook, but it holds true for any internet site.
