Disc Jockey Day

Everybody knows a DJ 1000's claim that they're one (even when they merely change things up within their sleeping rooms). Disc Jockey Day is about honoring hard working artists which have introduced energy to bop flooring around the world. Respect must be compensated to Djs of levels from velvet suited wedding crooners to worldwide celebrities – if you’ve made people dance by playing consecutive music, today may be the day to hail your talents.Celebrity DJ’ing was created from the recognition from the Ibiza dance scene and today dance music and DJs are global and also the technologies have moved way beyond two decks along with a microphone. It’s remember this the phrase a Dj, an individual who chooses and plays recorded music to have an audience therefore almost anybody could be a DJ consider getting available and play a bit of music!

Who is a ’disc jockey’?

Originally, the term "disk jockey" was slang for a radio personality who announced and played records. Back in the early days of radio, most shows were live and the radio announcers played 45 rpm records (aka disks) between commercials. Later, the phenomenon of DJs moved from radio to disco and social events like parties and weddings.

Pick your favorite station and start hanging out (if they'll allow it). Late at night is best (though your age may prevent this). If the station sponsors events, go and introduce yourself. Tell anyone connected with the station that you'd like to work there.

Apply for an internship or other easy job that's low on the totem pole. Make it clear you'll work free or cheap. Then watch learn and listen. One day someone will move on and you'll have a chance to move up. Repeat as many times as necessary.

You may have to start at a station that plays different programming than your ideal, but do it anyway - you're looking for experience and most stations operate the same regardless of what goes out over the air.

Things are a little different in the UK than here in the US, but I'm sure some of this stuff is still valid. If you are too young, study radio from what you hear. Listen to all the elements, not just the music. "Clock" the station: write down everything that happens in a one-hour period. Do this until you're old enough to legally work. You will be able to speak intelligently about the station and radio in general. It will give you a leg-up on the others looking for the same job. Study this board and others.

Good Luck!

No, I would definitely recommend a good band. I think it's not as common these days any more but in the old days bands could contribute a lot to providing fun and games to the guests so maybe you can look for those that still do extras!
