The one you have in mind from Craigslist sounds good. I haven't used one myself but know many women who have and if they don't try and sell you on only going to one store (they might get a commission) they really can save you a lot by showing how to buy things that are interchangeable.

What are your thoughts on international surrogacy?

What are your thoughts on international surrogacy?

I saw a documentary on this subject recently that you might be interested in. It's called Google Baby and it's on 4od. You might have to sign up to watch it but signing up is quick, easy and free:

Often these women used are in vulnerable situations and they desperately need the money. In India where a lot of these international surrogacy agreements take place the medical advancement is not as adequate as it would be in the West, so many of these surrogates end up dying, or having to have hysterectomies. In India poverty is rife and many of these women are desperate for the money, so they will do whatever it takes. I can't help but feel that they are selling their wombs because it's all they can do to get the money that they so desperately need. If they had a choice, they wouldn't do it.

I am not saying that I totally disagree with surrogacy. If the woman hoping to have a baby uses her own eggs, and the surrogate is doing it entirely out of choice I think it's a better alternative to newborn adoption. The child gets to be raised by his or her biological Mother. You also get women who don't mind being surrogates and they do it again and again.

Holidays also on this date Saturday, November 23, 2024...
