Would drinking a shot of Vodka each day before bed be unhealthy?
One shot of vodka a day won't do you any harm at all, but it's not true to say the it's good for your health, a small glass of red wine is considered good for your health but that's more to do with the antioxidants in the grape skin than it's alcoholic content.
There's no getting away from the fact that alcohol is a poison.

3 oz. of distilled alcohol/day is not a large amount. But you have major opiates, and they do not help? That doesn't make sense. If you are minimizing the amounts/frequency, then asking your husband may help. What won't help is "secret drinking".
