Take A Walk In The Park Day

Stretch your legs and breath some fresh, outside air for Take A Walk In The Park Day! Why don't you go to a local park, possess a have a picnic and stroll through the river?

Is MAY a good month to go to disney?? what about the best days in the week to avoid crowds??

Yup! Visiting all 4 parks in one day can be done. I'm walking proof. My husband and I took my sister to Disney World last June and we purchased a 1 day park hopper to save money and we saw almost everything! And this was in late June when crowds are at theur peak!

You have to learn how to work with the crowds, not against them. And know what is going on the day you are visiting the parks so you know how to work around events. For example, if a parade is going on and you could care less about it - this is a great time to run over to your favorite ride or attraction for a minimal wait time.

If it starts to rain, throw on your pre-bought poncho (Wal Mart or Target has great ones for cheap) and hop in line when everyone else is scurrying to buy one or run for shelter.

Check which park will be having extra magic hours the day you wish to visit. You can check this by visiting and clicking on "Calendar." Whichever parks are listed for the eearly magic hours, avoid visiting that park first. All of the Disney resort guests will be there that morning and it will be super crowded first thing. Start your day at another park and finish at the park with extra magic hours.

Wear GOOD walking shoes and pack a bottled water into the bottom of your bag to refill throughout the day. Once you've determined what park you will visit last that day, figure out where you'd like to have dinner andf make your reservations 180 days before you visit by calling 1-800-WDW-DINE. Have breakfast at your hotel and wing it for lunch, depending on where you're at in the afternoon. But definitely make reservations for dinner and make it for later in the evening - like 7 or 7:30pm so you have plenty of time to get to that park.

Take advantage of the fast passes. If a wait time is under 45 minutes, don't do the fast pass, just get in the stand by line. If the fast pass return time is too late in the day (when you plan to be at another park), either get in the stand by, or visit that attraction on your next visit and move on.

Here are the must sees of each park - see them and move on!

Early May is a good time to visit. You may have to deal with some early summer vacationers, but it shouldn't be too bad. Just avoid visiting any theme park on a weekend. Stick to weekdays.

As for Universal Studios... Islands of Adventure really requires a full day. It is an amazing theme park! Universal - not so much. You could spend a half day here, but you may get bored. I say skip Universal this time and spend a full day at Islands! Best coasters on earth!

Can I walk in the park four days after my appendectomy surgery?

Can I walk in the park four days after my appendectomy surgery?

It's a good idea. Walking will help you shake off the effects of the surgery. Don't try to walk all day the first day. Build up gradually as you feel up to it. The great thing about walking for exercise in a park is they may have benches every couple hundred feet, so if you get tired or sore, you can sit down and rest until you feel ready to go again. Another good place to do it if it's really hot out where you live is an air-conditioned mall with benches. Remember to stay hydrated. You need extra fluids after surgery.

Good luck! Wishing you continued good recovery.
