Is anyone familiar with Torrent Day?

I use torrentday all the time and I love it. Its not may favorite site, but pretty darn close. They have everything on there from stuff for the little ones (I downloaded Barbie in a Mermaid Tale for my nieces last night) to stuff that's strictly for adult audiences, if you know what I'm saying. They do not track what you download, only how much you leech and seed over all.

I have never had a problem with any of the files I've downloaded from them. They have all been great quality and squeaky clean (aka virus free).

They really value their members and take a lot of input. They even ran contests at Christmas time and after the New Year for a new banner and slogan.

Also they have a really cool bonus points system. For every hour that you seed a completed torrent back you get 1 bonus point. That's per torrent you seed and even if no one is leeching from you at the time. You can take those bonus points and turn them into upload credits to help get your ratio up. It is really helpful and adds up quick. If I remember correctly (server is down right now so I can't look) 75 bonus points will get you 1GB upload credit and 250 bonus points will get you 5GB upload credit. You can get 2.5GB upload credit for something in between those but I don't remember how many points it takes.

They have by far one of the best bonus points systems I've seen on a private tracker. I recommend if you want to join to do it asap, like as soon as the site is back up, because they have said they wil be going to a traditional private tracker format sometime soon at which point you would most likely need an invite.

Hope to see you on their soon!

Torrent????

Torrent????

Some dangers:

1. you may download a virus with it, so be sure to avoid torrents with weird names (and porn ones), and scan the downloaded file with your anti-virus to make sure it's fine

2. don't download too often or else you may get caught (downloading a movie a day = BIG chance of getting caught and consequently fined for piracy)

3. your comp may not be able to hold all your downloads because torrents usually are movies, games, TV series, albums, etc., which are all very large and take lots of room (either burn your stuff onto DVDs/CDs and get rid of them on your comp OR just watch/listen to 'em and throw them away OR buy a USB drive to store everything on)

Just make sure you don't download a thousand songs a day. The biggest problem really is the whole illegal piracy thing... my friend got a notice from the government telling him to stop downloading illegally or else he'd be in a lot of trouble (but that's because he was downloading EXCESSIVELY, so unless you download a billion things a day, don't worry about it).

torrents ?

torrents ?

Sandeeplove, a torrent is a way to share files between your computer and other peoples's computers, these files are not in a server but in your computer. To share them you have to use a P2P (peer to peer) program like uTorrent ( ). Download and install it. After it is installed you go a place where files (music, video, apps., etc.) are listed like The Pirate Bay

and click the link (Download this torrent), you are going to be prompted to Open or Save, if you only have uTorrent select Open. uTorrent will show you a window with the files in that particular torrent and you click OK, uTorrent will start downloading the file, when it finishes (it could take minutes, hours or days depending in your internet speed, in the amount of people that already have 100% of the file -seeders- and the amount of people downloading the file -leechers like you untill you have it 100% then you become a seeder).

After your download is 100%, if you use uTorrent, right click the file listed and select "Open Containing Folder", it will take you to the file folder and if it is already in a playable format like MP3 all you have to do is open it in your favorite media player. If it is like in .rar or .zip format you have to use a program to uncompress those to a playable format.

Remember to scan with an antivirus your downloads before opening them. When you finish downloading keep seeding to other people, it is the object behind P2P programs. If you decide to go for this, give a quick read to this links

Enjoy!
