Here's the truth...no judgment attached. Illegal drug use is a federal crime. Federal law trumps state law. Always. You can and will be discriminated against if the employer is away of your use. It will certainly limit your job pool...no government jobs and no jobs requiring a government clearance. No military jobs. IF you end up with a federal charge against you, it WILL show up on your criminal record.

You plan on working in a scientific field. Will you require a security clearance? Will you be working for the government? Will you be given a background check and polygraph tests? Probably. Can they "discriminate" against your disability...no. Can they "discriminate" for your marijuana usage....yes.
