Never look a gift horse in the mouth. if this family member is adamant they want you to have this gift, then take it. I'm sorry to say this but ignore your parents, it has nothing to do with them, if like you said you stay away from the drama, listening to them would only be joining them. It's a gift card so it's not like you could waste it on getting wasted or gambling. If you already have things you need, just think, christmas is coming up, buy gifts for your family now and save for then. Or if it's really stressing you out, just send the cards back with a note saying thank you but i already have everything i need, and don't want to waste your money by buying unnecessary things.

family problems involving friends?

just tell your parents you really like this girl and you would like them to give her a chance after they meet her if they dont approve then you will cut ties with her, if they like her then u get to keep seeing her! bring her to your house one of the days and if your parents show they dont like her then she should understand because she has family problems at home to, if she really likes you back, then your family wouldnt matterto her! :D
